By looking at the dates on these posts, I haven't been on here in a long time, lol. You haven't missed much. People here are still using this forum to promote hatred, bitterness, paranoia and conspiracy theories. It's so much fun to ruin someones day. |

here is a topic,,,,,more about collective responsibility than fingerpointing at scapegoats... Nations most often fall from within, and this fall is usually due to a decline in the moral and spiritual values in the family. As families go, so goes a nation. This has been the main premise of thinkers from British historian J. D. Unwin to Russian sociologist Pitirim Sorokin who have studied civilizations that have collapsed. In his book Our Dance Has Turned to Death, Carl Wilson identifies the common pattern of family decline in ancient Greece and the Roman Empire. Notice how these seven stages parallel what is happening in our nation today. In the first stage, men ceased to lead their families in worship. Spiritual and moral development became secondary. Their view of God became naturalistic, mathematical, and mechanical. In the second stage, men selfishly neglected care of their wives and children to pursue material wealth, political and military power, and cultural development. Material values began to dominate thought, and the man began to exalt his own role as an individual. The third stage involved a change in men's sexual values. Men who were preoccupied with business or war either neglected their wives sexually or became involved with lower-class women or with homosexuality. Ultimately, a double standard of morality developed. The fourth stage affected women. The role of women at home and with children lost value and status. Women were neglected and their roles devalued. Soon they revolted to gain access to material wealth and also freedom for sex outside marriage. Women also began to minimize having sex relations to conceive children, and the emphasis became sex for pleasure. Marriage laws were changed to make divorce easy. In the fifth stage, husbands and wives competed against each other for money, home leadership, and the affection of their children. This resulted in hostility and frustration and possible homosexuality in the children. Many marriages ended in separation and divorce. Many children were unwanted, aborted, abandoned, molested, and undisciplined. The more undisciplined children became, the more social pressure there was not to have children. The breakdown of the home produced anarchy. In the sixth stage, selfish individualism grew and carried over into society, fragmenting it into smaller and smaller group loyalties. The nation was thus weakened by internal conflict. The decrease in the birthrate produced an older population that had less ability to defend itself and less will to do so, making the nation more vulnerable to its enemies. Finally, unbelief in God became more complete, parental authority diminished, and ethical and moral principles disappeared, affecting the economy and government. Thus, by internal weakness and fragmentation the societies came apart. There was no way to save them except by a dictator who arose from within or by barbarians who invaded from without. Although this is an ancient pattern of decline found in Greece and Rome, it is relevant today. Families are the foundation of a nation. When the family crumbles, the nation falls because nations are built upon family units. They are the true driving social force. A nation will not be strong unless the family is strong. That was true in the ancient world and it is true today. Social commentator Michael Novak, writing on the importance of the family, said: One unforgettable law has been learned through all the disasters and injustices of the last thousand years: If things go well with the family, life is worth living; when the family falters, life falls apart. from :http://www.leaderu.com/orgs/probe/docs/decline.html good read and many good notions therein, thank you. Whether or not someone likes Mr. Obama, respect is due the nation's President. I am apalled by some of the derogatory comments I see. Do you think you'd have seen that poster with the condom in reference to JFK, Lyndon Johnson or Geo Bush? no. The pervasive lack of respect for the office of the President is not a wise choice for this country Fortunately we are all entitled to our own opinions as individuals. In my opinion, Oboma-nation, is no better or worse, presidentially speaking, than countless other useless people who made it to that office, however, he IS very arrogant and "stuck up." I am sorry, but I agree to disagree. He deserves respect no more then you and I. No matter a persons financial, or employment posistions in society, we are all human, ( sex offenders not included)we all were born from a woman, we all need to eat and drink, we all use the bathroom, we can all get sick, and when life is done, it is done. for us all. A president deserves the same respect anyone else does. exactly he does deserve the same respect and so does his office as Commander and Chief. It doesn't mean you have to like him or agree with him but if your idea of respect (that you have already said you respect him as you do others) is what you have demonstrated on here then I don;t want or need your idea of respect, thanks anyway....you don;t know what it means. |

It's hard to respect anyone who blatantly destroys the country you love with bad policy, corruption, scandal and lies..... especially if you respect the office they hold. |

Not to make this political, but how about mating Obama, with a male horse...or an elephant? Just to see what happens... exactly as it seems he is doing with the country. They already did, added a bunch of Bushes while they were at it, and the modern American voter was born. Started with pure elephants and donkeys, contaminated their gene pool with politicians of both the red and blue variety and... Now we have a nation of the most degenerative, idiotic beings ever imagined on this planet. They spend all their time in front of the idiot box raving for their favorite barbarians playing with balls or that new reality sensation or mastering the newest idiot wave of video heaven. And in their spare time they drop into the internet forums and post pure trash just to show the world what sort of beings they have become, the entitlement crowds especially. |

Glad to have prevented this: . "Corporations are people, my friend ... of course they are. Everything corporations earn ultimately goes to the people. Where do you think it goes? Whose pockets? Whose pockets? People's pockets. Human beings, my friend." "I like being able to fire people who provide services to me." As president, I will create 12 million new jobs." —Mitt Romney, during the second presidential debate "Government does not create jobs. Government does not create jobs." —Mitt Romney, 45 minutes later (Oct. 16, 2012) thank goodness we dodged that bullet,,,,(we ,meaning those who arent privileged and detached from the struggles of anyone else) Dodged what bullet? You mean the whole white guy instead of the half white one? Or would it be Mormon instead of the "Muslim"? Just what bullet was dodged? Even better, just what would have been different, some other Secretary of State causing Benghazi instead of shedevil? Would Odumbocare be more fully implemented without Odumbo? Do you have any clue at just how this country works outside the entitlement scene? |

Same bullarky as always eh?
No harm has come to this country from Obama except the racists got mad and flipped the hell out. If that is harming the country that is.... He isn't perfect but he hasn't started a war with a country that didn't do anything to us. Gotta give him that. He has attempted to get poor Americans healthcare that they couldn't afford otherwise. He makes attempts at saving our environment. He makes attempts at giving women a fair shake. He is limited by congress who answers to the racists But President Obama hasn't done any legitimate verifiable damage to this country. And I have to say...verifiable by a legitimate source not Faux News Channel or any of the right wing hate sites of course. They only want to make people fear the president and therefore hate him. |

First off, the author is a bible thumper, a moderate one but still one that slants every thing to loss of faith, which isn't totally wrong, moral issues or we should say a lack of are a large contributor to the decay of a society. He states it very plainly in the article: The problem with many of these doomsayers is that while their prognosis is right, their diagnosis is wrong. Yes, the future is bleak. But our problem is not ultimately political, economic, or social, as these doomsayers would have us believe. The decline of this nation (just as the decline of every other nation) is due to spiritual factors. The political, economic, and social problems we encounter are the symptoms of the spiritual deterioration of a nation. So according to the author, if everyone drops to their knees in prayer, all our problems would be solved. But still that he is correct in one sense, without morality, there can be no free society. However, the poster still only presents part of what was said, sort of like a little white lie. But his whole treatise is based on a distorted view of historical fact: [quote} History has shown that the average age of the great civilizations is around two hundred years. Countries like Great Britain exceed the average while other countries like the United States are just now reaching the average age. He got the two hundred years correct, there is just a slight distortion of the causation of that fact, history has it pegged as a "democracy", that has an average life of 200 years, but that still isn't the issue. Even with his theological point of view had 3 distinct areas, Decline of Family Values being but one. The other two were: 1) The Decline of Values and 2) Spiritual Decline, conveniently ignored by the poster, should have read the whole article, it even outlines this ignorance: There are many factors in the decline of a nation. Certainly a major one is the breakdown of the family. But another potent but less perceptible force is the power of ideas. False ideas are bringing about the decline of western culture. Carl F. H. Henry, in his book Twilight of a Great Civilization, says: There is a new barbarism. This barbarism has embraced a new pagan mentality . . . not simply rejecting the legacy of the West, but embracing a new pagan mentality where there is no fixed truth. Human beings should consider with great care their sources for information. By refusing to present certain information, and by influencing people to dismiss certain information as unimportant or unnecessary to consider, many modern institutions seek to control human perceptions and therefore to limit what human beings may come to understand. Truth is objective, meaning that it is not based on perceptions of human beings (which is capable of wavering). Truth is simply that which is. It is that which has occurred in the past and that which is occurring in the present. That which is. So telling a slanted story is but a mechanism of denial of the true story, but to tell part of a slanted story and try to portray something that isn't, pathetic. |

Do you think you'd have seen that poster with the condom in reference to JFK, Lyndon Johnson or Geo Bush? no. The pervasive lack of respect for the office of the President is not a wise choice for this country President is but a title, means little really and no respect is due a title. Respect is a human characteristic and is something earned, not an entitlement granted without value. to demand something be granted is to reduce that something to the level of the most vile. As to what respect Odumbo has earned would be equivalent to a pile of dung, cover it with sawdust and let the microorganisms turn it into something beneficial. However in Odumbo's case it would probably be anaerobic and result in toxic ammonia compounds that burn the earth. And with the possible, small but possible, of JFK, all of them should have had that poster and with Johnson, dad should have worn three to make sure. And for the last sentence, don't believe the qualifications exist for one to make that assertion. |

Yea, I am a pretty big respect until proven it shouldn't be given type person.
And Obama hasn't done anything to be disrespected for yet. Now Bush on the other hand deserved to be disrespected for the idiot he was. Killing all those people for nothing... I let him have my respect until he stopped deserving it I will do the same for this president. |

I had to get my kids shots, it probably protected them from illnesses,, yet I cant conceive of ever using the term 'like' in association with that experience, or the ability to have it,,, I like that they are protected from illness I dont LIKE being able to have them get a shot I like being free to pay for services and goods that suit my needs I dont LIKE being able to fire people,,,, "Had" to but don't "like" to, that describes an act of a slave. Having to do something you don't like. Sort of like "free" and "pay", don't go too well together, especially when "having" to do something not "liked". But go ahead and keep getting those little shots, makes illness a self fulfilling prophesy, anybody seen the Thimerosal? |

what 'signs' do you see that it IS so bad? No, the real question is why reality escapes you? The mere fact that you would need to be told is very telling. The very fact of your willingness to defend it is even more telling. maybe its just where you live, or maybe its just your perception, or maybe its just an attachment to an inhuman idealistic fantasy? what 'this' has america come to in 20 years? Las Vegas, the cesspool of Nevada, and no perception of reality, the mentality of entitlement. The only fantasy at play is the thought that one is owed anything, the "this" that has lead to the downfall of what was once a great nation, maybe in the resurrection because this whole world is beyond restoration. We are more gluttonous than ever, we have an overabundance of food , yet still have people starving (that hasnt changed), If by gluttonous you are referring to obese, then yes, but that has nothing to do with abundance, just a total destruction of what is healthy in favor of that which destroys. And people starving, you mean those even too lazy to go get entitlements, maybe for the better that could be even more so if entitlements were terminated in their entirety, one of the major ills eliminated. We are more paranoid than ever, we have a decrease in violent crime, but more people convinced they need a gun for the 'bad guys' And another huge fallacy from the standpoint of slavery which is what one becomes when the guns are only for the good guys with "badges", we can all see they know how to "use" them. But the pure bull of this statement looks at the effect but totally ignores the causation, the huge increase of gun ownership by the citizens. Sort of reduced the violent aspect to the "bad" guys shooting each other which I highly encourage. we are free to be bigots, we have some of the best medical care , we get free access to public education, we all are able to have a vote, we have an overabundance of access to just about any product you can think of, we have internet, we have cable, we have an overabundance of vehicles, we have multiple airports, women are free to behave like trollips or saings, men are free to be gentleman or dogs, Yes, we have become a nation of idiots, which is where the bigots belong. And yes, we do have the best medical care in the world, too bad we have so little health care, but then most of the idiotic masses have no clue of the difference, big clue, start with Odumbocare and work from there. And then the joke starts, public education the failing of a great nation, but to think it's free would be a concept of entitlement. The American "education" system is one of the most expensive in the whole world just on a pure monetary basis. But when it is combined with the actual results, then the expense becomes astronomical. So much money, so little results, that is unless you measure the results from the elitist standpoint, then it has been very cost effective, the idiots paid and the elitist got idiots, perfect little monkeys specialized in a task for their benefit. And the rest is just dribble, not even worth the comments. and we are free to LEAVE if we feel so trapped in all of the abundance we already have ,,whatever is so 'bad' to you,, just seems like life to me,,,,and Id go so far as to say perhaps too much freedom,, that has lead to quite a few spoiled entitled brats,,, And if those that are truly free to leave where to do so, then what? Then whom would be left for the government to rob? No, I think everybody should stay, just the natural balance needs to be restored. Government needs to be afraid of it's citizens, more Cliven Bundys, less Harry Reids. But no need for action, it's all going to happen on it's own. It will be painful at best but downright deadly for many, let the games begin. |
