Spent most of my life with my foot on the gas,
pedal to the floor burning bridges as i past.
Lived high and low and in between,
smoked lots of reefer dropped some LSD..
anything for a little reprieve
from all the little fears inside of me----yeah.
Take some pills for anxiety
lookin for a silver bullet to set me free
from self judgement.
I never thought i'd see my 30's pass,
watchin life go by thru a whiskey glass.
it took me so long but now i finaly see,
my greatest fear in life was always just being me.
i take a swing at the face of fear
my hand strikes the glass and breaks the mirror
and it shatters......
reflecting back the dreams
and all the tiny little things
that really mattered.....
anything for a little reprieve
no silver bullet can set you free
from that madness
