What is your opinion on the following:
1. While at work, the battery in my car died, so I decided to walk to the local bodega for a sandwich. On the way the cops stopped me, I thought it was nice that they would look after people. However, after explaining the situation, he pulled off, only to stop and reverse back to me. He demanded I show him ID, repeat and spell my name, repeat my birthday several times and then stated he knew of no store around called the Bodega. I complied and explained what a bodega was. He was laughing when he pulled away that time.

2. I go to a diner maybe three times a week and order breakfast after work. I order the same exact thing. However, I get charged differently every time; anywhere from $8.02 to $11.67, with an average of $9.79.

3. Every time I meet a friend and explain my Bell's Palsy, which has decided to stick around now for over three months, they all assume that it is the left side of my face that is effected and I have to explain that it is the right side that has collapsed.

I just find these things odd.

You need to have handy your Pennsylvania Dutch cap and jacket.

Same server?
Save your receipts, give those cops a real crime to deal with.

Obviously, you need to wear a patch over both eyes, Kimosabe.
Expect more coppage.

It's a bit like when you're looking in a mirror. To you it's the left side and to them it's the right.

1. Bodega- technically a wine cellar/bar, but most often refers to a corner store catering to hispanics.
2. But I fear I will lose out on getting breakfast for under $10 more often than not.
3. They will say they can see how swollen my left side is. I point out I always had a baby face and its not swollen, I am, er, chubby. Its the right cheek that has fallen down so much that I bite the inside of it when eating.

1. Cop needs to get a real job. I was stopped once for crossing the street (NOT jaywalking. I was in the crosswalk. I am still convinced he was just bored and horny)

2. say "the last time I was here it was only eight dollars"

3. don;t explain. chalk it up to mirror image

If there is a next time with this circumstance, swap bodega for bordello. At least he will now have a reason for pestering you.

This happens to me a lot to. Although usually it is only a couple of cents difference each time one way or the other. I make it a point never to argue over minor things with people handling anything I eat, so I don't inquire.
