As a songwriter, and a mother, I think there is an important place in our world view for both knowing how things ARE and understanding our part in how they will become
its a hard balance to reach, many dwell pretty strictly on how things are, and others ignore it to try to force how things should be do you think you have the balance together between understanding and working within the reality of how things are, and also taking little steps to contribute to how things should be,,,? or are you more focused on one than the other? |

I like the answer, reminds me of the serenity prayer God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. |

I guess in reality all men are sculptors, constantly chipping away the unwanted parts of their lives, trying to create their idea of the masterpiece.

I live almost entirely in the present moment and seek only to control what is mine to control - my decisions , my behaviors I work toward any goals I have to make changes for the future only for things I can control...and only when I can do so with a more than reasonalbe chance for success as I am happy living in the moment and don't fret toward the future don't dwell on the future. The present is all that matters. The future may or may not ever get here...in the future it is only what you have done in THIS present that will be acknowledged and that is what the future is made from |
