I have a lot of friend request but those sweet messages and no message are declined. I wont message them esp when theyre not qualified in my filter. Those urgencies are creepy. " please add me as your friend, i really need it. Im new in this site." i got 2 of these messages already. I need to put my guard up. Its up to you if youll accept it.

Okay folks, what am I to do? I got a friend invite from someone who has never posted in the forums, as far as I can tell. He says he really needs it. I, on the other hand, like to at least see a post or two or few so I get an idea of what they are like. He's a complete stranger, should I friend him? Why would he want to friend me? Could there be an ulterior motive is what I'm getting at. |

Carol, that's only for matching. Anyone can just randomly go through and look at other people's profiles of either gender.
I wouldn't friend someone who just randomly looked me up and hadn't had any other interaction with me, though. Creepy. |

Where are you going to see them unless your on the forum?

Thank you for your thoughts, everybody!

Remember the days when people spent time writing letters or walking to go see someone. Now it's all way too easy and you don't have to expend any brain power in typing a couple words and hitting the send button.

It's possible that the guy knows you from the forums even if he doesn't post himself. A lot of people don't.
It's also possible that he's a scammer that wants a friends list on his profile to give him credebility. I don't really see the point in friending on this site unless it's to give people that you do consider friends access to photos that you don't want just anybody to see. I have accepted friend requests from people that I already knew because it would maybe be a bit rude to not accept those but I don't accept friend requests from people that I don't already know because people like that are either scammers or they are the sort that just go on sites trying to collect together a list of so-called "friends" when they really have no intention of actually communicating with them and that's just creepy. |

Dude, why is it an emergency? There could be an ulterior motive, but all I would do, is take it with a pinch of Salt. I can't take friend requests very seriously, unless they're from the forum. Forum posters are the one's I am already familiar with. Don't let it bother you. It's basically just another stranger.

Where are you going to see them unless your on the forum? People can lurk on the forum without posting, so we don't even know they are present. And you can do a search of members for pretty much any criteria, separate from what the system sends you automatically as matches. But I agree with what TawtStrat said. |
