Watching it right now. Will be interesting to see what the motive was.

They have to capture the second alive to find out the motive. If he keeps throwing grenades and shooting he won't be alive in the end.

I doubt he will be taken alive. Nothing to be gained by him at this stage.

Now, the Gov. will want to outlaw hand grenades.

Police have identified Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, as the "black hat" bombing suspect, killed during the manhunt that followed. Readers have pointed out that Johannes Hirn made Tsarnaev the subject of a photo essay, "Will Box for Passport," taken before the boxer competed at National Golden Gloves competition in Salt Lake City. The captions give us a micro-profile of the suspect.


Tamerlan, who studies at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston and wants to become an engineer, took the semester off from school to train for the competition.



Tamerlan fled Chechnya with his family because of the conflict in the early 90s, and lived for years in Kazakhstan before getting to the United States as a refugee.



Originally from Chechnya, but living in the United States since five years, Tamerlan says: "I don't have a single American friend, I don't understand them."



If he wins enough fights... Tamerlan says he could be selected for the US Olympic team and be naturalized American. Unless his native Chechnya becomes independent, Tamerlan says he would rather compete for the United States than for Russia.



Tamerlan says he doesn't drink or smoke anymore: "God said no alcohol." A muslim, he says: "There are no values anymore," and worries that "people can't control themselves."

so tragic, such young men and at least one with such a promising future,,,


where are children learning such detachment from human life,,?

sad they did throw their life away over nothing, it didn't do anything but hurt people and stir up the ants nest... but they made their choice, and now they have to pay for that choice...

I agree with Moe!! what is so tragic about the choices these two scums made? they did it willfully, it is far more tragic the destruction they caused and the lives they took!! harmony, you really need not feel sorry for these cold-blooded killers, they made their choices, but you should grieve the people who were killed and injured, the real important people!!

unfortunately , so many young folks dont believe their actions should or will,,,,,

I dont know that they were cold blooded, I dont know if they were easily deceived and manipulated young folks who were lost and mislead,,


I tend to hold the older brother the most responsible and believe the younger was most likely wanting to immulate him like so many younger siblings do

I just know they were young and threw their lives away,,,I think they are all important, but as moe said,, actions have consequences

I lay it at the feet of the education system. God is out of schools, students aren't held responsible for their actions, we coddle them through life. Leaving them unprepared for the fact that life is tough.

education is but one part, culture is another

too many learn instant gratification and boundariless fulfillment of their desires,, without ever really having to think anything about others,,,

they are bombarded with sex which is also becoming boundariless,

they have broken homes with no father, or no mother, or parents who are together but both involved in careers and leaving them to strangers or schools,

there are fewer community programs in so many places where childrens parents are working , fewer places for them to stay busy so they stay out of trouble

there ia all kinds of morally deficient crap on television,, especially 'reality' tv

some of the older folks are trying their hardest to continue BEHAVING like adolescents

with so many learning to look after themself and care about their own wants,, its easy to make the stretch to being able to detach from their connection or responsibility for/to others,,,

there is an increasing lack of family/social/community structure to give many of these kids any real foundation, or real chance,,,


two simple things kids really need emotionally, to believe in themself, and to know that they are loved,, (not just financed or provided for,,,,)


many dont know how to do that for their kids, and their kids dont know how to do it for theirs,, and so on and so on,,,,


we have just gotten away from much of anything that truly promostes FAMILY anymore,, mom and dad cherishing each other and their children and children respecting and honoring their parents

if it doesnt start at home,, its not likely to be carried on in any other areas of life

Motive? Was to kill and as many infidels (women and children included) as possible.

You don't know if they were Cold-Blooded?? Really!! Give me a break!! were you at the marathon in Boston to see the destruction they caused?? well I was!! maybe if you saw it in person your opinion would change. What about the armed robbery they committed?? and the carjacking?? What about the police chases?? and them throwing explosives at the police during the chases. And in case you forgot they also killed an MIT officer and critically wounded an MBTA officer. If you or anyone else don't see that as Cold-Blooded, Well you better wake up, because they destroyed and disrupted many peoples lives!! and they both got what they deserve!!

I dont know what 'they' did, I know what the older brother did and I know that the younger brother was with him, no specifics on what he did or did not do peraonally

as I said, there is no trouble in the younger boys history, just his big brothers, and he appears to be the main one with the potential to be 'cold blooded', as for the younger one, I have no idea if he was anything other than a scared confused sibling trying to please his provider and older sibling,,,,
