Yes, age does matter to me. I'd prefer to date someone I have more in common with. That tends to happen with men close to my age. The bigger the age gap, the less we'll have in common. Also, I have no desire to date someone who is old enough to be my father. For dating purposes only age does not matter. For getting closer I would want someone closer to my age so we can spend our "golden years" together. My problem with dating women my age is they can't take amusement parks and concerts anymore.

Guys i was only talking about 10yrs difference in age not 40. I don't think that ten years is a big deal. I think that you only really get into problems with it when you are going after younger people just because they are younger.

Age matters to me. I do not want to date a man 10-20 yrs. younger. However, most men my age group are old and worn out. They are not active and want a old gal to just set on the Couch like a Couch potato with them and paw around. I can see why many older women like Younger men because they are Active.

For those where it does not matter, and have married, it does seem to matter to others in society that two people can find love when and if they are very different in age. I consider age not to be a barrier, or a preference, why close the door on someone because of their age when in many other respects they could be the one for you. Providing they are both free and able to marry, then it is for the two people involved to decide if marriage is for them, age difference should not matter in my opinion.

It has always been so. What may appear on law books does not accurately reflect our private affairs as if that was the case, France would have outlawed the 'mistress industry' which would have outraged wives all over the country and husbands, never mind the 'french-maid' girls and clientele and Bavaria would have forbidden the Beer Fest girls under 16 to wear breast revealing costumes...

It didn't seem to when I got together with a guy at school. He was one year younger. I've never been in a situation where it was ever even considered. Before dating sites even appeared, I just went with the flow. I just happened to date a guy I got along with really well. I never really gave age much thought. I think each to their own. We all have our own reasons as to why this or that.
