How the media pushes its agenda...yes..the suicide rate may be up for military this year..but it always fluctuates (as you suggest in your post) however what The report does not show that the suicide rate among active duty personnel is LOWER then the national average! According to the CDC there are 10.9 suicides per 100,000 (this does not include their estimate that between 8-25 attempted suicides for every one carried out.)
The WHO (World Health Organization) says the "Global' rate for suicide is 16 per 100,000. Using these numbers According to the DOD (Department Of Defense) there are@ 1,456,000 active duty personnel in the military. So using U.S rates of 10.9 of every 100,000 there should be 158 deaths among active duty personnel per year (compared to only 99) and using Global average there would be 275 suicides a year in our military.
So you can spin it all you want ( or should I say the always negative media) but numbers speak the truth...and that is, although miltary suicides may be slightly up...they are still below national and global averages.

Spin this, "Serchin" - If the Vietnam veterans' memorial wall
were to include all the names of those who did themselves in during and after that hellascious LIE of a war, it'd need to be
at least twice as big. That's what war does. It keeps killing afterwards, too.

yes CBX..I suppose that could be true..as I am sure many have died and are still dying from the bombs of Hiroshima and Nagaski...but how many more millions would be dead and still dying if Japan was still on U.S soil and the war was still raging?
Besides CBX..you are very wrong to ASSUME I am a "pro-War" advocate...quite the contrary...but I am a realist and dislike the propagation of lies(by the media) told only to gain a social or political agenda.

They pulled the same purely punitive bullying of civilians
in Japan as they did in Dresden. Japan was finished beforehand, knew it, and was secretly negotiating a peace right before we nuked a cvilian city. With Dresden, the biggest slaughter in western history (no military or major industrial importance -
just kids, old people, china and musical instruments), Germany
had already lost. The firebombing did'nt hasten an end to the war
nor was it intended to. It was purely punitive, in the classic American - style of justice; Kicking people when they're down,
also trying to strike fear into the world with unbridled brutality. (..Sounds like "Terrorism" to me..)

CBX..Japan had set up several outposts or "bases" in Alaska...and although Alaska did not officially become a state till 1959 it was still considered a U.S. territory since 1912.
Several hundred Americans died clearing the Japanese from these outposts.
Did you know they were also bombing California...did you know that? and if history means anything at all to you CBX..Japan attacked us first.

Wonder what madrasah...I mean school you went to..laugh laugh laugh

cbx1300:

Please explain exactly how we "provoked" the Japanese into attacking Pearl Harbor. If I remember my history correctly, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor in order to scare us into staying out of the way of the Axis' plans. After the attack, we declared war on Japan-Japan only. Germany and Italy then declared war on us. Some of my friends on here will never believe I'm gonna say this, but here goes: Sometimes war IS necessary and unavoidable.
