On the run, from dark side of the moon. Ahead of it's time so it was! Too many good Floyd songs though.

The tide is turning Roger Waters, formerly of Pink Floyd I had that song on tape. Poignant words but not sure the tide turned judging by the state of the world today!! |

Yep, sadly I have to agree, it's still a profound song all the same Yep the male voice choir definitely helps to make it stand out I used to think the world was flat Rarely threw my hat into the crowd I felt I had used up my quota of yearning Used to look in on the children at night In the glow of their Donald Duck light And frighten myself with the thought of my little ones burning But, oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning The tide is turning Satellite buzzing through the endless night Exclusive to moonshots and world title fights Jesus Christ, imagine what it must be earning Who is the strongest Who is the best Who holds the aces The East Or the West This is the crap our children are learning But oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning The tide is turning Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning Now the satellite's confused 'Cause on Saturday night The airwaves were full of compassion and light And his silicon heart Warmed to the sight of a billion candles burning Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning The tide is turning Billy I'm not saying that the battle is won But on Saturday night all those kids in the sun Wrested technology's sword from the hand of the war lords Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning The tide is turning Sylvester Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning |

If someone asks me what my favorite Pink Floyd song is, my first answer is usually Have A Cigar. Being a musician and dealing with so much of the bullsh*t that the song talks about, it really speaks to me on a very deep level. I second that. Well said. Also, for some ungodly reason, I decided to watch The Flaming Lips perform Dark Side Of The Moon at Hang Out Festival the other day on the Palladia music channel. If you're ever scrolling through your TV guide and you see it on, do yourself a favor and do not, under any circumstance, put it on. It was the aural equivalent of being punched repeatedly in the testicles by a spiked, lead wrecking ball with a core made of solid, pure, concentrated hate. It was so atrocious it was actually personally offensive, and I will never, ever forgive myself for watching it. Consider this a warning and a public service announcement. |

And I CERTAINLY agree with that! |

Great to have a thread dedicated to my favourite band on a dating forum. It certainly gives it a bit more class!
Shine On Echoes (live at Pompeii) Breathe Time Dogs then pretty much EVERYTHING else. |

Some albums should be taken as a single work. I think "Dark Side of the Moon" is one of those. It is a piece of art.
