Topic: What do you really feel?

As adults, common sense will tell us that not everyone is going to like us and there are other fish in the sea. Sometimes our defense mechanism kicks in to tell us it doesn’t matter anyway, because we are better off without them. But, most of us cannot honestly deny that there is a pinch if not a punch to our emotional gut when we first learn someone we like does not like us back. What do you REALLY FEEL when it’s happens to you? I generally dont care if others like me or not, although I still try to treat others how I wish to be treated but the only people whose approval or acceptance are vital to me are my famly, who truly know me,, Im sure those who dont 'like' me have not taken time to truly know me anyhow,,, so its no big whoop Yes! The ones who love us/we love ARE the only ones who truly count.

@ Sweetestgirl.... I agree with every post you've made to this thread! Keeping it civil when it's nothing more than conflicting personalities (this I learned the hard way on another site ) Making "short" work of it when someone I like makes it clear they don't feel the same about me... Offering or being open to friendship when romance is not a possibility... INTENT, a biggie!...I always know what my intent is...It is "usually" pure of heart...I know when I am being judge fairly and I know when I am not....It's this kind of self awareness combined with an aversion to rationalization that keeps my emotional hurt register in check...I also feel strongly about this...If someone has crossed me off their list because I have unintentionally hurt them or because of anything rumored rather than confront me directly I say the loss is their's and move on to better things...

What do you REALLY FEEL when it’s happens to you? I find myself having to get away from men I met online, after talking long times and then arrange a meeting inperson. I decide, after first date; Nope, he is not the One for me. Most keep contact for a while but I do not care to arrange another meet. I don't like dating any man, I don't want as a mate in LTR. I "dodge that bullet" and run for the Hills.
