Yes, movies seem to be the example I hear most when people try to tell me love is real.

I digress, surely this means dragons are real as well, DragonHeart proves it...This is my problem. I'm sure love exists, I just remain unconvinced that it is anything short of a mental condition.

Movies and real life are two completely different things.
Yeah, in real life this "love" has been known to be the cause of some incredibly, and supposedly, selfless acts. But when you get down to the knitty gritty and the psychology of it all, 'love' is just an obsession devised by ourselves, the human race to keep each other around and make lots of hip-thrusting good times resulting in screaming piles of flesh and drool. (i.e. Babies.)
You can smell, taste and of course see a person. Smell is your first introduction to the stuff they're made of, and a kiss is a taste-test of their immune system (on a genetic level). All ways to test if they will help create satisfactory babies.

With the obsession/addiction to this person (or the dopamine they cause you to release) you so stupid crap. Just like a drug addict.
So, yeah.
Love exists.

I've been in love.
And through the twelve step program.

I believe myself to be a fairly intelligent and rational minded person...most of the time, and somehow I still believe that kind of love exists.

I think it’s incredibly rare and most people will never experience it.

On the other hand, if someone has to take a bullet or drown in an icy ocean for me to truly realize how deep their love runs...I’d would rather never know. ohwell

Every person once in life be in love but irony is most of us not able to realize that moment n probably miss the most beautiful feeling of human nature

That's an odd definition for anything, really.

It's like saying that most of us will taste an Oreo cookie in our life but not have the know-how to comprehend it.

And it is nature, not human.

We have to keep in mind that we are on a dating site and there is a whole other life out there of couples and love that exist that is way bigger than we are maybe aware of. Most of them don't come on dating sites.

Don’t need a movie to prove love is real.

Indeed; my problem is when they give me the same definition that I hear from people who are not dating. It just seems like a recycled line that has worked for so long because no one has questioned it.

I'm just looking for a more coherent definition than a movie or the mystical phrases used to define it...My point is for being as important as it is the definition leaves me with the thought that it isn't really all that good if the only thing they can come up with is a cliche.

so tell me, how do you comprehend an oreo cookie? they make little sense to me. take rather bad tasting dough, bake it too long so that it is hard and crmbly and fill it with sugar that has absolutely no nutritional value or flavor in particular. over price it to the level of ridiculous and then put it in a pretty package...why? just to prove that sheeple will literally buy anything, and, if packaged correctly ....eat anything also?

maybe you need a new example - that one just went up in flames
