I don't know...I'm kind of old fashioned.
I wouldn't dream of leaving the house without basic makeup but that's just how I was raised. Women need to look like women and men like men. My makeup is part of my femininity and I'd feel weird having my guy rooting through my makeup bag.
I like a fella who takes care of himself, sure...hygiene products are a must and he must smell good. Some moisturizer and lip balm are acceptable too, since that's caring for the skin.
But bronzer...guyliner...foundation?
No thanks.

I'm still trying to sell people on the middle finger, I just think it accentuates the eyes so much more than mascara.

I have only seen men in theater wear makeup. It is up to the man if he wants to wear makeup.

Would the tattoos I am getting count as make-up?

I didn't know you were getting tattoos. What are you going to get?

I don't have any tattoos.

When I go bald I am going to get tattoos of tires peeling out and burning rubber down each side of my head with lightning bolts. People will see them and know I am fast...most importantly they will know I'm not George Kastanza on Seinfeld. I will just outline the tattoo so I can color it in special colors for special occasions.

j/k I have no tattoos.

Makeup for men?

Society has already made the decision.

Makeup for men?

Society has already made the decision.

Society in all countries are relative; they change as often as the winds of history.
For thousands of years men along with women have been wearing cosmetics from ancient Egypt, Sumerians to the ancient Greeks and Romans. Cosmetics did nothing to emasculate their males. Many males today in the ancient Middle East and Asia still wear some.
In "our" society it has only grown out of fashion since Victorian times, which began declining around the time of the absurd invention of the 'modern suit' by Beau Brummel in England.
Hollywood images and their absurd depictions of historic times are not the most reliable images of the past; in fact they are usually dead wrong and made-up. Theirs is a world of make believe as are the ways people lived and looked.

honestly, Id be turned off by a guy wearing make up, just as much as by a guy who switched when he walked,,,

these are just feminine things to me,,,

I think if a guy has blemishes or discolorations to his skin and wants to hide them using makeup, that's perfectly acceptable. My ex-husband had sensitive skin that would sometimes redden, and if it got really bad he wasn't above borrowing some of my makeup to hide it if we were going to a social function. No big deal.

And he's about as far from 'metrosexual' as it gets, nevermind that we're both in theater. He was borrowing my concealer long before he went back to acting. laugh

Now, on the other hand, a guy who routinely made up his entire face the way I do, if it wasn't for camera or stage? Okay, that would turn me off.

We live in present day America, not Egypt, England or any other country of yester-year.

It took a long time for acceptance of an earring on a man. Maybe in the future acceptance of male makeup may happen but it isn't going to happen next week.

"the absurd invention of the 'modern suit'"

Man, I'm with you on this one. The coat I can dig, but anything shorter than a 3/4 cut suit is for the birds. I'm referring to the whole suit and tie thing.
