I agree, KeepingTheFaith. Where I live the poultry industry is prevalent. It had to be the company to make the change. People were trying to hold onto their jobs by different strategies. Some of the stragegies were through oppression. I. E. key positions or jobs that paid more were being kept by holding secrets of how the jobs were accomplished. The company itself had to make the transition by the offering of the upgrades. The 'good ol' boys' infostructure had to be replaced as well as the 'who you knew' infostructure. The merit system began to replace the seniority system. In a way it helped many.

There are all types of unscrupulous people in the workplace. At the end of the day you just have to remember that other people's poor behavior is not a reflection of you. I know that's easier said than done when you have to deal with those people everyday.

Thats a good point, Bay. Sometimes it is like a buffet where you take want you want and leave the rest behind. You may like the other food offered but just not ready for it or would rather have it at another time. Sometimes one must stand back to mediatate. Sometimes there is so much information coming in that one can get lost in it. Most unscrupolous people where I work have a way of phasing themselves out. I am happy for those who go up the corporate ladder so to speak by obtaining work elsewere. I am glad for those who find out that the job is not for them. I am glad for those who stay because they love the job.

It makes me wonder what is worse; A hopeless optimist or a hopeful pessimist.

Some of the unscrupolus have taught me little things that have stuck with me. It is these little insights that I get after watching them perform some little tasks. Why I can't agree to the way they do some things other things they do just astound me. Even though they have gone on to other jobs or areas that seem to suit them better I get to packrat the information. Even at my age learning can be so much fun.

well Roy thankfuly i guess i do security work and i know companies put up cameras and other security measures but not to many people will do anything if a "REAL PERSON" is there to see them

thankfully they haven't found a way to make houses build themselves...yet! But I have found that there will always be slow times and being diversified is a necessity, knowledge is power and the more things you can do will hopefully get you through the hard times.

I ave never had to worry about it, I want a machine to go out in a snow or ice storm and pick up a wire with 14 thousand volts running through it and put it back together, then carry it up a 60 ft pole and tie it in, I think that is job security LOL
