Let me put it this way: To act like Jesus you have to BE like Jesus, and I'm not that, I'm human.

believe it or not Jesus also was a human when he walked this world.
He is the perfect human, He still had the feeling that if it was possible He would've liked to avoid the cross. However, He said Father may your will be done and not mine.
Another thing if there is no Heaven what would be the purpose of doing the right things.
Just feeling good about myself? That would be too selfish.

That again depends on what you understand under "heaven".
I'm happy to know that I go back to where I came from. In my case it would be nature and the universe.

Plenty of time for both of us. My granny was 95 in April, my mother is 72 and very agile, so there is some hope for me, too.flowerforyou

I need to play advocate tonight.

Ask yourself this question, honestly.

If you were a kind and gentle soul with the knowledge that giving up everything you held precious, in order for others find the tranquility you posessed would you do it?

I feel this would be the underlying question asked here. How many of you posess this type of knowledge of the ages, the charisma to show others how to live, and how to live this life without hypocrisy and mistrust.

Personally if I knew for sure it would save humanity and help others to gain this type of salvation, I still don't know if I would be willing to give up my existance here on earth. That would require me believing there is life after death, and I am not sure if I believe in a place where the soul goes after dieing on this plane.

If I knew for sure that there was a place we descibe as heaven, I think I would consider it a release from the pain I have here. To be able to go to a place that I wouldn't have to worry about paying bills, or working the hours I do would be a relief. It would be a reward to go to heaven because I freely gave my life for the rest of humanity, and since Jesus was crucified in his thirties that means even if he did suffer all the sins of humanity his life span was short in comparison to many of us who still suffer on a regular basis.

Think about it, would it really be that hard to give up your life here IF you knew for sure of what was on the other side of death?

Food for thought.
