Sad but true. Vets filing claims with the VA can wait longer than one year for a decision, due to the backlog, even as veterans are committing suicide at a rate of 22 per day. Yet the government can get right to work making gun laws in a matter of weeks.

Where do the government's priorities lie? Imagine if they put as much effort into taking care of our veterans as they do coming up with gun control laws?

We appreciate all the feedback on here, and it's good to see so many people aware of this and angry about it.

It's not a swipe at any certain politician, party or even the VA (notice we used the word "government") because it's really ALL their faults. While OTFR is primarily a gun rights page, this was made to bring attention to both issues.

Rather than putting so much effort into coming up with new gun laws that the govt admits won't work, how about enforcing the ones we already have, and putting the focus on issues like veterans care?

The government came up with so many committees, task forces, and legislation regarding gun control in a matter of weeks...imagine if they acted that quickly when it comes to fixing (and not just throwing money at) the VA?

when did we , as a culture, start believing people or governments dont and cant multitask

why does addressing one problem mean to us that no other problems are being addressed?....

and how do we resolve vets not being able to get their claims (for money) without supplying money,,,,,,
