I once fell in love with a young man from Italy and I am from Canada. It was a great affair. I was 16 and he was 18. He was a soccer player with 2 brothers and a father. His mother passed when he was young and his aunties and uncles took care of him when his father was away on business till he was 17 then he took care of himself and his brothers. He went to school and coached soccer as well as played soccer for his college/university team. He was so amazongly handsome and his mind was incredible. We talked on the phone for hours and skyped a lot too. We built dreams together and would constantly talk about our futures together. I fell in love with the thought of him. It was an imaginary world but it was perfect at the time because my life at that moment was falling apart. my father was very ill and my mother was away working. I spent most of my time alone taking care of myself and my ill father. I needed that fantasy life to help me cope through my fathers passing and my sister/best friend getting married and my mothers affair with work. But it did not last we had to get back to reality and move on. So I dont think internet love lasts I think we create unrealistic expectations of the people we are talking to online because it is our escape from the real world.

A long long time ago...I had been in a relationship with a man for over a year when he took a job in New York. It was a great opportunity for him. I was not in a position to leave my company at the time, so we continued our relationship for another year via telephone, email and a half a dozen weekend visits. We hated it, and were both tore up when we decided it wasn’t meant to be. So, I can’t imagine dating someone who lived even further away. I also can't imagine the relationship starting on those terms.

loving someone on the net is illusive. you know very little about the person, your imagination creates the rest of the person as per your expectation and judgement and which can be very different from the actual person. even if u get to know the real person.. you have to meet and be together... if its not possible then it can be hard..
