Ingredients
- Crust: - 3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs - 1/4 cup ground toasted almonds or pine nuts - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg - 1/4 cup melted butter - Filling: - 2 (8-ounce) containers garden vegetable flavored cream cheese - 3 eggs - 1/2 cup crumbled tomato basil flavored Feta cheese - 1/2 cup crumbled Blue cheese - 1/4 cup chopped black olives - 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning - 1 tablespoon brandy or 1/2 teaspoon brandy extract - 1 SPAM® Classic (12-ounce) can grated - Topping: - 1 cup sour cream - 2 teaspoons sugar - 1 PATAK'S® Major Grey Mango Chutney (10-ounce) jar pureed - 1/3 cup toasted slivered almonds or pine nuts - Assorted crackers Savory International SPAM™ Cheesecake 15 grams or less of Carbs per serving Prep Time: 45 minutes Cook Time: 1.5 hours Directions Preheat oven to 350°F. For crust, in small bowl, combine all crust ingredients. Gently press into bottom of a 10-inch spring form pan or pie plate. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven; set aside to cool. Reduce temperature to 300°F. In large bowl, beat cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in next 6 filling ingredients. Gently fold in SPAM® Classic. Pour into prepared crust and bake 50-60 minutes or till center is almost set. Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine sour cream and sugar. Spread over cheesecake and bake 10 additional minutes. Remove cheesecake from oven; cool to room temperature. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Before serving, spread chutney over cheesecake and sprinkle with toasted nuts around the outside edge. Cut into thin wedges and serve with assorted crackers. Serves 24. Appetizer SPAM CheesecakeOf course it's good. It's an award winner! 2004 Wisconsin State Fair Winner Sandee Budzinski Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine croutons and margarine. Press into bottom of 9-inch springform pan. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. Soften gelatin in water and stir over low heat until dissolved. Combine cream cheese and SPAM with mixer until blended. Add gelatin and stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over crust and chill for 20 minutes in freezer. Remove rim of pan. Serve with crackers. Serves 16. You know, I just can't believe there's so much interest in Spam that people actually work at making up things to do with it? And, if it's so bad that you have to go to such lengths to cover up the taste, why bother?
But, you see, it is an addictive hobby, finding Spam recipes. My brother, sister and I get a huge kick out of it, for some weird reason. Puts the fun in dysfunctional! |

Spam and ramen ......
Asian Spamtastic Ramen Ingredients 2 packs of pork or oriental ramen noodles 1 small can of spam 1 can of pineapple chunks (drained) Teriyaki sauce minced garlic dried onion flakes Cook noodles as directed. Add diced spam & pineapple to noodles, heat and stir until everything is warm. Season with the remaining ingredients to taste. Frozen or fresh broccoli is also good in this recipe. |
