I Corinthians 13:13 And now abides faith, hope, love, these three; but the
greatest of these is love.
Love is given to us by God.
‘The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the HolySpirit’. Romans 5:5
The love we receive from God is different than the love of man. The love of man can
change from day to day. God’s divine love for us never changes. Faith works bythis
divine love. When we are saved, God adopts us into his family. He is our father, we
become his children. He loves us unconditionally. Human love is no substitute for the
love of our father in heaven, but Jesus commands us to love each other as he loves us.
If you notice, when you are struggling with an issue, such as forgiving someone who has
done you wrong, is it usually in your thought life. It is not the love in your heart that is
holding you back, making you doubt. It is the thoughts in your head. Realize that God
lives in your heart not in your head. Let your heart guide you to discover God’s
unconditional love.
Love is shown in deeds and actions not in words.
Nine ingredients ofdivine love:
Patience, kindness, generosity, humility, courtesy, unselfishness,
good temper, righteousness, sincerity

1 Corinthians 13:8,13
(8) Lovenever fails: but whether thereareprophecies, they shall fail; whether istongues, they shall cease;
whether thereisknowledge, it shall vanish away. (13) And now abides faith, hope, love, these three; but the
greatest of these is love.
1 John 4:712
(7) Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows
God. (8) He that loves not knows not God; for God is love. (9) In this was manifested the love of God
toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
(10)Thisis love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son todiefor our sins. (11)
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. (12) No man hasseen God at any time. If
we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.
John 15:910, 12,13
(9) As the Father hasloved me, so have I loved you: continue you in my love. (10) If you keep my
commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in
his love. (12) This is my commandment, that you loveone another, as I have loved you. (13) Greater love
hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Mark 12:3031, 33
(30) And thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind,
and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. (31) And
the second is this, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thysel f. There is none other commandment greater than
these. (33) And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with
all the strength, and to love your neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

John 13:3435
(34) A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also
love one another. (35) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
