The forums are a communication tool to get
to know different people. People take their time, and I don't know anyone who would accept a date without having spent some time getting to know another. My best advice is, use the forums frequently, get to know someone first, sense whether or not they are interested, and have some patience :-) |

just a heads up normally if you have spoken to them several times over the course of 2 weeks and they are not willing to meet its probably best to give up. Some people ive noticed dont intend to meet people just talk despite what they say.
Thats the internet though and things like that should be expected. |

Well always make sure that you take it slow, you know start talking on the site, exchange emails for some time...then maybe use the IM system build into the site then maybe more to personal email addressees. From that you can either go to an other IM or chat program like Skype, then to phone and finally to meet. I know it seems like a lot, but you have to understand that some people are very cautious... and this IS the Internet; you are never 100% sure who is on the other side. The chances of you meeting a sociopath, or a serial killer are pretty decent hahahaha.
That said, if you took your time meeting the people then maybe that person was not interested in meeting at all. That could be for many reasons, as xeshm21 pointed out there are many here that only interested on maintaining contact through the Internet (for what ever reason). You should always test the ground you know, while having a casual chat throw in there a "one day we should get together to go for a walk or a coffee" Also, when setting a first meeting, always make sure that its in a public open space, ideally in the day... you know, to give some sense of security. All this advises apply assuming that you meet a real person, there is a lot of scammers and fake identities... you have always a chance to find that type of person in here, after all, the internet is a virtual space that many use to fulfill fantasies and desires, escape of harsh realities or in many cases simply live an imaginary life. |

Thank you all for your good advice ,it has been 50 years since i last asked a woman on a date & i am sure the dating scene is all different now. when i was young you went to dances, dance with a girl then asked her out.
