I am a single Presbyterian Christian lesbian looking for some friends who are also a gay Christians of some sort. The Christian bible says we are to love are neighbors as are self. The bible does not restrict who we are allowed to love, how we are to love, or why we love people. I believe that as long as we are loving openly and freely that it is not a sin. I am looking for some other people who believe this also. I go to a Christian church who teaches that it’s ok to be homosexual. I am just looking for some friends and maybe a girlfriend in my area. I do not drive a car and it would be a lot easier if I could find a date in Beaverton.

Love and sex do not have anything to do directly with one another. Sex between two women eg., "lesbian" is entirely a sin. Not judging specifically you in this, but it is almost an oxymoron for someone to claim to be homosexual and a Christian in the same breath. But again, you are absolutely right the bible doesn't restrict us on who we can "love". We are told to love anyone and everyone, even including those that persecute us. But again, that doesn't mean we are to sleep with them.

Crystal,

First As you post in the Religious section, you will get a little more pointed discussion than in the non religious areas. If this is not what you want, you wont get it in the other areas. As a fellow Christian, I felt compelled to reply.

I am sure you will do fine posting on Mingle finding like minded people. And no one is attempting to not accept you. And you are right. As Christians we are to love everyone as God's creation. And I welcome you to this awesome family here at mingle.

But I will put the Christian hat on first for this discussion as you chose to post here.

Our heavenly father calls us to love each other knowing we are all flawed and sinful and no one is without sin. He also calls us to seek to do what is righteous (right) and to grow and learn and seek to be sinless knowing this will only make us less sinful as we mature in our walk with our Father. As we grow and get to know Him more. And we will not truly be sinless until we are with Him. My sins are no less destructive than yours.

He also calls us to hate sin. Hate the sin in ourselves and the sin in others. Not to hate the person or ourselves. Again we are to love the person, and hate the sin. Thats how we come along with another believer in their walk of growth and healing. I am coming along with you as you state you are a believer.

The Lord is also very clear about seeking right relationships and He defines what wholesome thoughts and behavior is and He clearly describes what unnatural relationships are and warns us what happens to us when we chose to continue with those thoughts and behaviors. You and I and the Presbyterian church have no authority to redefine what those things are. Actually its a slap in Gods face. Thats what fills the cup of wrath at our arrogance against our father.

Crystal, we fell out of harmony with God, its us that needs to find harmony with him, not change him to fit what we want. So if being a Christian is truly the higher priority than being a lesbian, then seek Him first. the two ideals are not congruent or compatible. I will suggest to you that you wont find personal harmony or peace trying to make the two ideals fit together. They never will regardless of what church building you walk into.

I hope I have been compassionate on a challenging subject. I truly wish you peace or I wouldn't have posted.

Your brother in Christ.

In addition to the two great posts above I want to lay little emphasis on the importance of the kind of places we assemble to worship. We are always reminded and admonished to do our best to locate a BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH, at the time of our regeneration,WHERE THE ENGRAFTED TRUE WORD OF GOD, UNDILUTED is preached, where the true Word of God is declared, Where Christ is LORD and where ALL that Chist stood and still stands for: PURITY,TRUTH,LIGHT,CHASTITY,LOVE,RIGHTEOUSNESS,HOLINESS,OUR BODIES BEING THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT,..etc HOLDS ABSOLUTE SUPREME...The New Testament disciples of Jesus Christ continued ( as we should) in HIS doctrines in and were called Christians (CHRISTians: CHRISTLIKE) for the very 1st time at Antioch... and that should as well pass when our spirit tells us we are not in the right place. Now this is not about preaching or church names or passing judgement or wanting to throw stones because I have issues I pray and cry to God about too,but I have to let you know that God counts such sexual behaviours as homosexuality,lesbianism,beastiality,...as sin and will incur His wrath if not confessed and forsaken.
I pray you do find friends, great and worthy friends and above all the glorious beautiful soul lifting friendship with Jesus. God bless

The Lord has truly gifted you in this area, Hikerjohn.

I probably would have fumbled it.

I wholeheartedly agree with your response.

Thank you!

Have you by any chance read what's been written about Sodom and Gomorrah in the bible? God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Adam or Eve and Eve.... Man to man, woman to woman...is it not abnormality? Loving one's neibhour as oneself does not mean one should be a gay.... God help us......

True and three original hebrew is even more clear. In Levi 18:22 that work "lie" is "shakab" in the hebrew which means to "lay down sexually"

Ezekiel 16:48-50
King James Version (KJV)

48 As I live, saith the Lord God, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.

49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

Ezekiel 16:55
King James Version (KJV)

55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.

I personally stress relationship over religion when it comes to these types of issues. Religion is outdated, and on top of that, too many exist to know that one single religion is supreme. An example is religious beliefs of the Middle East. Why have Muslims become so suicidal/militant througout the years? They kill others in the name of their god???? That's whack!! Will Christianity become that way if persecution continues? Prejudices really have a way of stirring up hornet nests among people. These are just a couple thoughts to consider.

In my opinion, religion is too sacred to promote such indecency. It makes zero sense to me. If you're cool with God and you truly feel at peace with God's opinion of you, then religion is wiped off the board.
