I never really cared for Valentine's Day. Too expensive and too much pressure for planned romance.

I think Christmas is way more expensive than Valentines day as you only have to think about one person rather than a whole lot of people that you feel pressured to buy for. Then you have to think about food; decorations, booze, excessive electricity costs for Christmas lights; as well as the cost of the gifts. A romantic evening does not have to be expensive at all. Christmas on the other hand is so costly that you spend the next 6 months trying to recoup. I don't celebrate either but at least there isn't a month of crappy music piped in every mall and every radio station. Valentine's day is way less BS than Christmas and its about love not greed as well as glutenay which is what Christmas is about.

Wow ya all are such a downer about a holiday that can have so many possibilities! Come on if you are single it is a grand opportunity to put your bid in if in a tiny little flirt or a major play.

NONE, absolutely none of you, will convince me you would be dissappointed if someone, almost anyone, passed you a valentine and said Happy Valentine's Day. Why shouldn't someone else feel the same way?

Yea maybe you don't want some total idiot waltzing up and saying "Marry Me" but don't you all like to think there is something loveable about you? Something that generates a little flirt, pass a little candy sentiment, a poem, a card? Chances are the next love of your life is in your world right now and you are walking past them every day. That is what valentines is all about. Planting that seed of romance and nurtureing it into romance over the year not just on one day. But you have to start.

So all you frusterated lovelorn Mingler's have some heart and send out flirts over this next week and you might be surprised how much your love life will revive. After all boohooing into a towel is getting you no where fast.
