The prey could feel the dark, foreboding presence on the back of his neck, penetrating deep into the layers of his skin. Perched high above on a steep, precipitous cliff…..He awaits…..The dark, stark eyes cutting through the shadows of the lush fauna of the JSH canopy. He listens intently, focused on his prey. Preparing his strike, he stretches his taunt, muscular talons, his gaze narrows as he calculates the angle of attack. With one extraordinary thrust of his massive wings, he is aloft, gliding above the territorial boundaries he has claimed. Analyzing the brisk ,cool wind coming from the western horizon made blood red as the ominously setting sun disappears over the last post. After considerable observation, he discards the Liberal approach, knowing the risk of getting his wings entangled in a mass of bureaucracies,
like a giant spider web holding him hostage or worse, falling prey himself to the blood sucking leaches, laying in wait deep under the depths, for a free meal to fall from the dark sky above. He contemplates using a more independent approach, knowing he can glide down, shifting and changing with every new direction of events, hoping he can get his prey to be duped into thinking he is friend, not the stealthy killer he is. And after expending such energies ,steering among the swiftly changing winds, the outcome could only be a protracted draw. He chooses the more conservative approach, knowing the direct, steep angle will increase the velocity of his attack, enhancing his control of his aerodynamic wings, and improving the chance of a precise and lethal kill. He adjusts his wings to a swept back position to decrease the drag along his path to ensnare the enemy. Talons raised up, piercing the night, the claws cutting through the thick layers of liberal amounts of fauna that hide the prey from reality…until they tear into the mass of delusional , self pitying sinew beneath the targets thick skull. Another successful hunt and a meal that will carry him through to the next post!!

CBX..its a shame you live such a miserable, negative life...your insults are just a reflection of who you are...your diatribe is pointless.

..And what do your insults reflect?

Folks, Folks, Folks......

We can stand or sit and insult till the cows come home(and I've been guilty of that from time to time). Expressing opinions is one thing. Insult-fests and personal attacks are another.

There's a column that runs in most papers called "Woman To Woman". It tackles the issues affecting us all, from two sides: Conservative(Shaunti Feldhaun) and Liberal(Diane Glass). Glass passed away very recently. In today's paper, Feldhaun wrote an article called "A tribute to Diane Glass:How it is possibleto respectfully disagree on ideas and yet become friends".

It doesnt matter if you're conservative, liberal, or somewhere in between. This article should be required reading for everyone whose ever posted(or will post)anything in the Current Events section of there forums. Look it up. it's one of the best columns I've ever read.

Viol my friend??? Since I see that you are back online (welcome backlaugh ) you never did respond to my question:

"Viol...cut and paste what? not sure what you are implying my friend?"

After your post of :
"You found the 'CUT & PASTE' icons on your laptop screen?!?!?"

Viol...I have been called many things...right winger, conservative, liberal, Bush lover, communist and many worse things indeed. Since NO one here on JSH KNOWS me and can only ASSUME they think they know me or my ideology...I give them a pass...for one, it is only an attack on my stances or views and not my person, and as long as they can "infer" even a trace of truth in those labels..so be it. But by your comment, if you are suggesting that I copied and edited someone elses work, I am truely disappointed and offended. As a person who I think shares my love and enjoyment of Language arts and creative writing...to be called a plagiarist is the utmost insult.
This piece was all mine...good or bad..(only you and others can judge) If you find it bad...thats ok..I can still repect you and your opinion.
So if you would just clarify this statement of yours , I would appreciate it:smile:

P.S> Viol on another post you corrected my use or "definition" of a phrase as being grammatically wrong...after more research I could not confirm your contention because it seems professors of English debate these very issues more frequently now then ever before since the English language has evolved so fast in just the last 50 years. They dispute the differences between what is a discriptive adjective, adverbial phrase, transitional pronouns etc. But I am a willing Student my friend and do not profess to be an expert in English grammer...so I will take the lesson from my "teacher" and try harder next time.drinker drinker

'search',

Good friend, have some wine and lighten up a bit!!!

You wrote
"Viol...cut and paste what? not sure what you are implying my friend?"

to my:
"You found the 'CUT & PASTE' icons on your laptop screen?!?!?"

That was meant solely as sarcastic humorous relief!!!

If you read an insult in there, there were none intended, and I would recommend you look up 'susceptible' :)

Further, you wrote:

"... Viol on another post you corrected my use or "definition" of a phrase as being grammatically wrong..."

I did no such thing. I was simply assuming that you meant 'descriptive' and not 'discriptive' as you wrote. If there actually was a word spelled 'discriptive' I wouldn't have known its meaning that's all. But took a chance and figured you meant 'descriptive'. Didn't intend to make it a big deal, just wanted to clear that I wasn't misinterpreting your your message.

As for the try harder next time, don't do it on my account. I certainly wasn't on a moral or teaching mode. Just looking out for clarity in our exchanges, that's all!!!

:)

I would definitely join, and I'm sure 'search' would also, but PLEASE!!! Although 'cépage' is essential, we would need a little more information than strictly the 'cépage'!!!

We are 'connoysirs', 'search' and I are ?!?!?

1996 Wolf Blass Shiraz, President's Selection, South Australia
Intense, very appealing nose of ripe black fruit, cracked black pepper, tobacco leaf, chocolate, cedar and vanillin oak. Plenty of oak on the palate balanced by enormously concentrated, rich, plummy, slightly peppery black fruit. Thoroughly delicious, and its medium tannins make it accessible now.

well, I don't think he can resist if he likes his red wine.happy

'Invisible',

Don't worry, 'search' is probably just checking his 'wine almanach' before accepting the invitation?

Trust me, he'll be there!!!
