Anyone know any types of vitamins or foods that will combat fatigue. I don't want to see the doctor before trying something on my own. I get my 7 hours of sleep; I eat extremely healthy; and I work out on a regular basis but lately I always seem to be tired. It started over the Christmas holidays but hasn't gotten any better. I don't know if maybe the lack of daylight is draining me energy or if it is something more. Is anyone else going through this? If so; what did you do that helped you?

I use grow lights all around my house in the winter. I've been doing it for over 30 years. People used to laugh at me but now Doctors prescribe light therapy to ward off "Seasonal Affective Disorder" SAD.

So, do these lights actually help you combat fatigue?

You may be right as one of causes of low iron is not eating much red meat or liver. I don't eat liver at all and seldom eat red meat. Thanks.

I take a One a Day women's vitamin for over 50, when I get off them I get tired. Sometimes over exercise can run you down too. Believe it are not. Eating healthy is a good thing lots of Veggies, stay off red meat. Go get a checkup though, after all Dr. usually know more.

My fatigue was due to depression...

I tried alternating different hours of sleep; like cutting it down to 5 or 6 and that made me worse; so the 7 is working for me. I eat a high veggie diet and seldom touch red meat. I took a couple days off from the exercising to see if that will make a difference but yeah thinking I may have to see the doctor.

Are you getting enough protein in your diet?

I had considered that but I normally eat foods that are high in protein like chicken, lots of soy products, yogurt, eggs, and Tofu. Only thing I don't eat much of is red meat. Given my age; it could be a Menopausal symptom.

I know there are some herbal remedies that I can try; so I will try that first before running to the doctor. Besides from the other post about the flu being so bad; I am sure he will be pretty busy.

Critically low levels of Vit D will do it...
B Complex vitas are also critical.

Thyroid or other hormonal changes will do it to(gonna have to see a doctor for that.)
