The last few days, I have been learning to cover the following songs:

The Eagles - Lyin' Eyes
The Eagles - Already Gone
The Eagles - Take It Easy
The Eagles - Best of My Love
John Denver - Take Me Home Country Roads

Since I'm not too knowledgeable of that good ole music, I would like you guys to recommend some tunes for me to learn! I'd like to keep it classic.

If you are with a cover band you should play "Freebird" By: Lynard Skynard

To quote a fan during a performance for my friend's late father's Cover band, "If you don't play Skynard, You Suck!"

Haha I know a couple Skynyrd songs, but Freebird isn't one of them (we're an acoustic band). Although it's a great song and very well put together, I'm sick of hearing it and I'll be damned if I learn it. laugh It's on Classic Rock radio stations at least 10 times a day.

I used to love that song, but it got played out.

ah, Neil Young. Yesterday I learned "Operator" by Jim Croce. That song is put together nicely. It was actually tricky; Croce is an acoustical genius, I must say.

Hurt is really easy. Even I can play it!

Anyway, I recommend you learn the following:

Almost Cut My Hair - CSNY (I think you could pull it off with acoustic guitars)
Down On The Corner - Creedence
Needle and the Damage Done - Neil Young (Old Man is good too—Heart of Gold works, but isn't as fun to play I don't think)
Midnight Rider or Whipping Post - Allman Brothers (the latter might be tough to arrange for acoustic)
Landslide - Fleetwood Mac
Twentieth Century Fox - The Doors
Sweet Home Alabama -Lynyrd
Any song by Tom Petty (too many to list)
Ramble On - Led Zeppelin (again, you could pull it off with only acoustic guitars)
Blister In The Sun - Violent Femmes (not exactly classic, but whatever)
Highway Man - Willie Nelson, Johny Cash, Kristofferson (somethin' like that) and Waylong Jennings. I think.
Closer To the Heart - Rush (might need an electric... unless you do something a little different for the solo)
Dust In The Wind - Kansas
Gallow's Pole - Led Zeppelin

This is because you said you're in an acoustic band... if you have amps, then I'd also recommend:

Woodstock - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young
Down By The River- Neil Young
Rock n Roll - Led Zeppelin (only if you have a good drummer... otherwise the song just doesn't work, and you'll have to stick to Black Dog or Good Times Bad)
Limelight - Rush
Johnny B Goode - Chuck Berry (that's like, true rock n roll)
Hair Of The Dog - Nazareth
Supernaut - Black Sabbath... or do Paranoid.
Highway To Hell or Back In Black - AC/DC

...

Yeah, that should keep you busy for a while.
