It's been quite a few months since I have been here on my former regular basis because of health problems.
Those of you who remember me will know me mainly from the Joke and Humour threads. I was taken ill in February with breathing problems, and was in and out of hospital until May when I underwent heart surgery. I've spent most of the rest of the year recuperating, and have only been able to come online when I've had access to a computer. NOW though, You'd better watch out. LOL I'm ALMOST 100% fit, and will try and get back to posting more jokes and invading the other threads a bit more again. To ALL my friends, I've missed you all, and I hope EVERYONE has had a great Christmas, and I wish you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year. |

If you are continuously having respiratory problems that have no explanation have your place tested for Mold! Chances are a filter like an Ionic Breeze or similar MERV 12 or better air filter will help you greatly! MERV 16 is as good as it gets. Anything less MERV 12 in filtration capacity you are wasting your time. Any decent Electrostatic air handler will work.
A leak hiding in a wall can foster mold as well as dirty ventilation ducting and behind the furniture. Dust Bunnies likewise also foster mold. Recently a friend of mine had been complaining for months of having breathing problems in his house. Just recently I noticed evidence of a water leak in the downstairs bathroom floor where a patch of black mold was growing. After opening up the wall and tracing the leak to the Upstairs bathroom I had to tear out two bathrooms partially to fix the leaking pipe. There was mold growth in and under and behind both Vanities. Once I removed the wet and contaminated drywall and insulation I blasted the walls inside and out with strong bleach water in two passes. The next day his breathing improved a staggering amount. The asthma symptoms his kids had suddenly stopped! this led to a campaign in his house to clean behind furniture, under couches, and in every ignored place like the refrigerator and under the stove. their health has improved a lot. I am not sure of your living situation but to me unexplainable respiratory problems lead to mold somehow! And you would be surprised where it can grow. One friend of mine had a wall that just got humid in a closet and one day he removed some boxes and discovered what made him sick growing in a closet. It was growing on the wall behind the boxes. This would be something to look into if your respiratory issues are mysterious or testing cannot explain why you are having them. |
