The only way to be free from banking tyranny is to not do business with the banks. The current BIS plan is to move back to a gold standard internationally, because after years of fiat currency "folly" the people are going to want a "solid currency."
Here again, the banks will be screwing you, because they will control the value of gold on the market. They did it in the old days, and they'll do it again. The best bet the people have is a bankless currency and/or bankless monetary system (in which all banks are nationalized and out of private hands). I personally recommend the social credit system. It is based on abundance rather than scarcity, has a national dividend rather than nation debt, and income tax doesn't exist. The wealth stays in the nation too, where it can grow & accumulate (as opposed to banks sucking nations dry with usury and fraudulent debt). http://www.michaeljournal.org/myth.htm Don't equate the word "social" with socialism; the system has nothing to do with politics. And don't let the idea of a church promoting it scare you either. The concept is secular. Maybe if you guys manage to abolish the Fed, you can instruct those clowns in Congress to switch over to a social credit system. The mechanisms are already in place and very little would need to be done. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Credit |

I am not into nor do I ever want to get involved with politics as it stands, so how would you suggest an individual function in this society without using a bank? You need a bank to write a check, get money to and from pay pal, pay bills that are out of town, cash checks etc. Even if I decided to use only cash, that would be very difficult. Any suggestions for the average citizen? |

If I have the water and you are dying of thirst, you will give me all the precious metals or whatever I demand for the substance of life.
If, I am better armed and catch you by surprise, you will turn over whatever I demand in exchange for your life. Trade, barter, theft, murder, in very hard times, will be the currency. Real chit hits da' fan, water, food, appropriate clothing, weapons for food and protection will be the things that sustain life, no? |

I hope that people in general are more compassionate and kind, and I have seen tons of kindness in people helping other people in this world. I am sure there will always be the fearful, ruthless brutes among us, but in times of crisis, many good people and heroes do come forth. I don't believe in your picture of a world of brutes, thieves and murderers. I think and hope the human race will prove to be better than that at large. Focus on the good. |

Reminds me of when they was pushing plastic bags. Paper or plastic was the question at the cash register. Our own leader is one of those ruthless brutes and murderers. I can't post the link but, there is evidence he has had kids killed. |

Any suggestions for the average citizen? Some of them were listed by willing2. Trade & barter, water, food, clothing, weapons (I'd hold off on the theft & murder stuff) Convert any money into non-perishables that can be used for survival and trade. Get to know and form alliances with your neighbours and local community. If the community is or becomes large enough, coordinate your efforts to minimize the impact of everything from natural disaster to economic collapse. Create your own local (bankless) currency, or maybe use Bitcoin. Anything that reduces toyr dependence on a bank is a good thing, so take your money out of the bank ASAP and exchange it for other currency such as already noted. Avtually, there is much you and your community can do to save itself from the upcoming hard times. Don't be afraid to be a "prepper"; remember "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" and "he who fails to prepare, prepares to fail." Focus on the good. Always. (but keep your eyes peeled for the bad) there is evidence he has had kids killed. …and probably enough to convict him of crimes against humanity if he could be dragged before a court of competent jurisdiction. |

JustDukkyMkII,
Okay, I understand getting prepared for the dark ages, etc. and having food and water storage for emergency etc...and I've been reading that stuff for a while. But lets look at today. The reality of right now, this moment. TODAY. Okay, I have a bit of water stored, certainly not for a long term electricity outage that would rob my house of tap water, but just a few weeks worth. Seems like I have enough cans of beans to last six months, etc. Converting money into real stuff is a good idea, but there is still the phone bill to pay that has to be paid via check, and the electric bill is the only one I can actually pay in person in cash, but a bank is still needed and where I get the digital money deposited and cash checks etc. The grocery store still insists on federal reserve notes and if the electricity goes out they can't even sell you a loaf of bread. My sister hinted that my storing drinking water was even a bit paranoid or negative. I told her fine, don't come knocking on my door for water if the well runs dry. LOL How do you prepare for an unknown emergency without looking like a paranoid nutcase? And if society manages to stay in tact, what things can we do to beat the banksters? |

How do you prepare without looking like a paranoid nutcase? What can I say?…They laughed at Noah till the water rose to nose level. Guess who had the last laugh? There is a distinct difference between looking paranoid and being paranoid, so I wouldn't be inclined to worry about what others think. However, I don't really care to let such lunkheads know what I'm doing anyway. If they knew who had a good store of food & water that they needed, they'd know where to go to get it, and the intelligent "prepper" might then have to shoot people who would rob him of his own life to get what they foolishly didn't think they'd ever need. Don't make ANYTHING obvious; in fact, don't tell anybody what you're doing or what you have. Keeping that knowledge to yourself now could save the lives of you and your loved ones one day. So my advice is to just laugh along with them at the "nutcase paranoid preppers" and don't tell anyone that you are prepared for any eventuality. I do think you should have more water available, because in the event of a highly probable power failure that could last for months or years, there will be no tap water, so a means of capturing, storing and purifying water should be near the top of your list. That and enough dried food for a couple of years. The Mormons are prepared for this crap, so should you be. The other thing, if you can afford it is getting off the grid and producing your own power. I suggest you look into that. If the SHTF, the last place you'll wanna be is in a city, so if you can, you should always have & maintain a place (a nice little holiday cabin?) in the country that's off-grid and has the major cache of your supplies (hidden of course). It should be within a gas tank's distance and you should always keep your tank full. |
