ABC OTUS News – Mon, Dec 24, 2012
Ted Kennedy, Jr., the eldest son of the late Ted Kennedy, will not run for Senate in the Massachusetts special election expected to take place in the summer of 2013 if John Kerry is confirmed as secretary of state. Kennedy lives in Connecticut, but he had reportedly been mulling a run in the state where his family has a long legacy of public service. On Monday, however, he released a statement saying that he was grateful for "all of the offers of support" but that he didn't want to leave Connecticut, the Associated Press first reported. Kennedy, 51, was one of several Democrats who had been speculated as potential candidates for the seat; Reps. Mike Capuano and Ed Markey are also commonly cited, and actor Ben Affleck has even made his way onto the list, although in a recent interview with GQ he seemed strongly opposed to the idea of entering into politics. On the Republican side, out-going Sen. Scott Brown is widely expected to try and win back a Senate seat. Meanwhile , F O R W A R D ... over the cliff |

I still doubt it
most politicians run from a place of authority, from a history of privilege and/or authority, and havent really held 'working man' type jobs I think Affleck does much better in the movie industry and has more of a love for it, than to throw it away for the political circus,, I mean, arena |
