 I lost my mom 2 weeks before christmas, 19 years ago. I was living 1,400 miles away, and very much in shock from the news. I was decorating my house for christmas, listening to the christmas music on the radio. When the played Elvis singing Blue Christmas. . . needless to say I lost it. Every year since then, the frist time I hear that song, I know it's mom smiling down on us. This year I was all set to make my cookies and candies, I turned on the radio and the frist song that played. . .you guessed it. . .Blue Christmas, I smiled, wiped away a tear, and said aloud, I love you too mom, Merry Christmas.

Well; not exactly a Christmas miracle; but a friend of mine came by; gave me a small Christmas tree; a small turkey roast, some Christmas presents, and a Tim Horton's coffee. He said he felt bad that I was alone and has nothing in the house to represent Christmas. Although it wasn't really necessary; he is such a sweet friend to be so concerned about me.flowerforyou

navygirl's story reminds me of the second christmas after my divorce. I had been unemployed (and not collecting) for quite awhile and had recently obtained a job but it did not start till after Christmas. I literally had no money for Christmas. I bought each of my kids 1 present. My oldest son I bought an orange crew neck sweater - years later someone told me he wore it to school about everyday that winter :) - anyway

a friend from my tae kwon do dojo knew I was struggling. 2 days before Christmas she brought over a laundry basket full of food - potatoes, pasta & sauce, pumpkin pie fixings....and more - it was a God send literally as it came from her church. one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me.

and we had a great christmas feast

The Earth still turns below my feet.

It was a decent enough day today even with the madness surrounding me.

And I am going to crack open a cold beer!

Miracles do not exist, as there is no god. Unlikely things occur, but that is purely a statistical matter.
