Topic: How not to check for gasleaks | |
---|---|
Many years ago I complained to my late husband that the griller in our oven was leaking gas.
I was sitting at the kitchen table, he lent over and picked up the lighter. He then stuck his head as close as possible to the griller and placed his hand in and lit the lighter. It blew him halfway across the room. I was stunned. When he turned around I burst out into laughter, he had lost his eyebrows and fringe and his face was red. I said to him what were you thinking, really, gas, flame big boom. He was not terribly injured, well, his pride took a huge hit though. |

I'm surprised he didn't start off with "hold my beer and y'all watch this" |

The first thing to do is see if you can smell it.
I have seen men check for small leaks by lighting a match. I always thought that was very risky. |
