Out of curiousity stemming from some of the other discussions on the board, I Decided to look a little bit into the psychology/emotional state of those who take life so easily, what they had in common,,,,,

I found this

1982
a Junior HS teacher lost it after his wife left him,,,he sought no psychological help

1984
a nightclub patron opened fire in the club after a woman rejected him

weeks after losing his job, a man sought psych help but received no call back, his wife read him tarot cards to try to calm him, he ended up opening fire at a mcdonalds

1986
a postal worker opened fire at his job after being reprimanded by two supervisors earlier

1987
a retired librarian went on shooting rampage after being taunted by children

1988
a former employee at ESL , after being repeatedly rejected by a female, went on shooting rampage at her workplace

1989
a slightly retarded drifter with a pendant for guns, violence, prostitution and hatred (Especially of asians) opens fire at a cleveland elementary Trigger unknown,, shooter took his own life

a depressed and suicidal employee at STandard Gravure opened fire at his work before killing himself, he had received psych help and disclosed that he felt like harming his supervisor at work,,,

1990
ex criminal kills GMAC workers after car is repossessed

1991
Lubys massacre,, trigger unknown

university of Iowa student rampages when he doesnt receive a scholarship

..there are too many more to do this morning
but a common thread seems to be rejection and/or mental illness

Now look up stabbing deaths in relation to shooting deaths...

Then add up the other various forms of murder such as poisoning, shoving people in front of trains, and that happened recently in New York... as well as crazy people going on rampages with 18 wheelers, tanks, and cars. Even a car in a high speed chase is a flying bullet that WILL kill people!

Sorry but you are failing to present a comparator to go by. Madness and guns do not go hand in hand no matter how hard you try to argue the point.

Seriously, how about the guy who went nuts in Colorado and was taking on demons with a samurai sword along with the local PD? Then there was the guy in Florida who ate his victim's face.

So again guns are not the thing we need to be focusing on. We need to focus on the people using them wrong! Blaming the tool again is weak sauce.

I could just see it. Cross examining a gun...

DA: "where were you on the night of the murder,"

gun: "I was being held in that man's hand," (pointing at shooter), "He kept squeezing my trigger,"

DA: "SO YOU DID KILL THAT MAN!"

gun: "HE MADE ME DO IT! I can't pull my own trigger! I don't have hands to do that!"

What fallacy is this? I can think of at least three!

One more time, GUNS DO NOT KILL PEOPLE. PEOPLE WITH GUNS KILL PEOPLE!

a bit of projection there

actually, all I Did was try to find a common link between those who commit MASS killings

and I can appreciate the VERY occasional machete massacre
but I Was focused on the much more COMMON type of weapon used to murder masses in a short time

guns,,

no other motive there, besides trying to find the common trigger(no pun intended)
