well, first, that is switzerland and not the USA

here are a few differences

Switzerland doesn't have a standing army like the U.S.A - instead, they have a 'people's militia'. The country's culture expects males, upon turning 20 or so, to enlist. Once enlisted, members receive several months of mandatory training and testing regarding WHEN and HOW to use a weapon. Upon successful training and testing, each member is given weapon(s) to store at home, in case the militia is called into action (this is why the per capita gun ownership rate is so high).

Here's an interesting point though: only the highest ranking militia members (just 2,000 people in the entire country) get to have ANY ammo in their homes; everyone else must get it from the nearest military compound in the event that the militia is called into action. This regulation came in 2007, as a response to concerns about potential gun related death (yes, that's correct: the country gun advocates love to hold up as a beacon of gun freedom has passed recent meaningful regulation to further curb gun violence). Prior to 2007, militia members were still only allowed 50 rounds of ammo in their home (the primary reason for the 50 rounds was to provide the militia member with enough ammunition to make their way to their military base in the event of an invasion), and those rounds were checked periodically to ensure that their usage was for authorized purposes only.

yeah,right!
We don't have Ammunition!
What Malarky!
Maybe not Government Issued!
Besides,a standing Army,or a Conscript Army really have nothing to do with the Issue.
Besides,I am quite familiar with e Swiss-System,being a Swiss Citizen and having done my Service!
Glad People think that the Swiss have to use their Rifles as Clubs for lack of Ammunition!
Besides, most Firearms are in private possession, since the Armed Forces might number a few Hundred-thousand at the moment!
That Guy is selling you a Phony Bill of Sale!

That's what the US used to be,before the anti-gunners screwed up the Works and made Guncrime in the Us worse!

wikipedia really doesnt say much different,,lol

"The Swiss army has long been a militia trained and structured to rapidly respond against foreign aggression. Swiss males grow up expecting to undergo basic military training, usually at age 20 in the Rekrutenschule (German for "recruit school"), the initial boot camp, after which Swiss men remain part of the "militia" in reserve capacity until age 30 (age 34 for officers).

Each such individual is required to keep his army-issued personal weapon (the 5.56x45mm Sig 550 rifle for enlisted personnel and/or the 9mm SIG-Sauer P220 semi-automatic pistol for officers, medical and postal personnel) at home. Up until October 2007, a specified personal retention quantity of government-issued personal ammunition (50 rounds 5.56 mm / 48 rounds 9mm) was issued as well, which was sealed and inspected regularly to ensure that no unauthorized use had taken place.[4] The ammunition was intended for use while traveling to the army barracks in case of invasion.

In October 2007, the Swiss Federal Council decided that the distribution of ammunition to soldiers shall stop and that all previously issued ammo shall be returned. By March 2011, more than 99% of the ammo has been received. Only special rapid deployment units and the military police still have ammunition stored at home today

and?
You still haven't addressed that I am able to buy the Ammunition from any Gunshop!

That Ammunition refers to Government Issue Ammunition!
Also, you haven't addressed the amount of privately held Firearms which vastly outstrips the Government issued ones!
Nope,don't tell me,I live here!
Ammunition is freely available even for the presently issued Armed Forces Firearms!
It's the NATO 5.56mm Cartridge!
Also chambered in other non-military Firearms!
Then there is the GP-11 7.5 mm which is now only privately available, since Government discontinued production, like in the NORMA-Brand!
I say again, the Writer of that Article, presumably a Guncontrol-Activist sold you a phony Bill of Sale!
No surprise from a Leftie Progressive Site.laugh

the Sap is lying to you at every step!
The Private Ownership outstrips the amount in circulation by the Armed Forces!

and the Biggest Lie is,that all Ammunition is removed from Swiss Homes!
What an Idiot! rofl
That Guy is sorely misinformed,or,worse,is trying to pull the Wool over your Eyes!

what your "Source"is politely keeping from you,is that about 3 to 4 times as much Firearms in private hands than are presently in the hands of the Armed Forces Members!
And it seems you haven't seen that either!

So what is the truth?

All reports stated the "shooter" had ONLY handguns on his person, the Bushmaster .223 was later found in the car and not used by the shooter.

So explain this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zE0OT5od9DA

2 men seen fleeing the school past the gym, later stopped and detained by police in a fleeing van... no further reports

Another man seen fleeing thru the woods, caught on video, "proned out" by police, handcuffed and detained, wearing camo's. Later a shotgun removed from a second car that had been cordoned off earlier in the day. Audio and video can be found on youtube.... and before you start, it is the audio from responding EMS, fire and police personnel, and video released by the press in earlier reports...as they happened... before the "official story" released.

So what is the truth?
