Closing the Door
All that was left was the pain of your silence and the emptiness of watching you close the door leaving me alone to think to wish to miss you I gather the last vestige of pride within my soul and turn away The sun had yet to fall yet the rain began to slowly fall from my closed eyes the world felt so cold so lonely without you I mumble words that fall on deaf ears “please don’t we no not this not now forgive me . . . please” So much pain so much terrible pain living life without you I only hope you hear my last words, “Sorry” |

Poignant, emotive and absolutely beautiful. The sentimentality here really does reach out and touch you.
This is a brilliant piece of writing, in my view. |
