I hate being my age and would love to be about 20 years younger. There are just so many more opportunities for younger people.

Age has little to do with opportunities, in my thoughts.
Age can make some limits, but then so does learning what NOT to do. Think I still do what I want & what I can't, I don't have any business trying.

As for wanting to be younger, I'll pass. Been there, done it & never enjpyed going backwards.

Those who have retired from the job, how do you spend your time?
Those who are not retired, what's your plan after retirement? banana:

I retired years ago and did all the things I wanted to do. I then got bored so I went back to work. I will probably work some til I die. I now view full retirement as a waste of time.

Are you afraid of your age after fifty?
After all age is a great factor of life.explode

In answer to your first query...NO!..To have been afraid of my age after 50 would have meant that i would have been living in fear for the past 21 years, and that would've been totally unacceptable...

Further, if age is a great factor of life, as you say, then ATTITUDE is an even greater factor, as so aptly pointed out by both oldsage and mssilverfox.

I'm 71, and my life is STILL what i make of it...

But age can make our life hell; lot of diseases, loss of memory . . . . .
Whenever I see a person unable to walk by his own due to age, I feel bad, I get afraid thinking of future. B-)

Maybe where you live but here if you aren't young; you can't get a decent paying job; or even a job period. So; yes age has a lot to do with opportunities. It truly is horrible being older and very depressing. Nothing to look forward to except death.

Get "out of your box". I TOTALLY changed my occupation, home & lifestyle, at 55. Still learning, but think I am winning the game. I made my job/work fun & my passion. I have never quit at anything & not going to start now.
Opinion; can't get over the mountain on the path you're on? FIND A NEW PATH. Might be tougher, but YOU WILL BE BETTER FOR IT. NEVER QUIT.

Note: what I do, is being done in 27 countries, around the world.

Now GO MAKE YOUR DAY.

As I said; its not easy here. Put out over 200 resumes already and bottom line; employers will not hire you after 40 here. You can't change your path if no one is willing to even give you a chance because of your age. It must be different where you are but here age discriminition is very alive.

This is so true. We can kid ourselves all we want that age is a number or we don't feel our age until an accident occurs and then the realization that you are not young anymore hits you. I found out just how old I was when I had my car accident as being older it takes a hell of a lot longer to heal.

I never understood why becoming older is looked down or feared.
I mean really, who decides if you are old or not .If you are old so what???If you are young so what?
We all come into this world at different times and we all leave it at different times. Its what you do with TODAY that matters.
Enjoy every minute you have, whether you are young or old.

There is no doubt that we should enjoy every minute of our life but it is also true that as we grow older we become more dependent on others.

I doubt a cat has nine lives. I have seen them get hit by a car and they are done.
My point is age should not be stopping you from things you want to do. , your health an attitude might but not your age.
Yes age and health are two separate things. Some people get sick and die very young. Some people are very old and still healthy an active.
