People whining about the re-election of Barack Obama could learn a lesson from cartoon character Linus Van Pelt, the best friend of Charlie Brown.

In one Charlie Brown cartoon, Charlie Brown is in bed, whining about how horrible his day has been. Linus enters the room and then proceeds to remind Charlie Brown that the earth was still turning. In short, Charlie Brown had not experienced doomsday.

Well, the same is true for the USA. The re-election of Barack Obama was disappointing to some of us, but it wasn't the beginning of the end.

The wailing and gnashing of teeth on the part of some Republicans is quite bewildering considering how often that Republicans claim that they are believers in God. Apparently, the God they believe in isn't the same God mentioned in the first verse of the Tanakh (a.k.a. Old Testament).

In Ezra 1:1 we read the following: “In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing.”

In Exodus 4: 21 God says to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the miracles that I have put in your power. But I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go.”

Yes, the God of the book of Genesis manipulated the will of men who ruled nations. He possesses the ability and the authority to have His sovereign will done on Earth no matter who leads a nation.

The official motto of the USA is “In God We Trust”. When an election doesn't go as you want it to, that is the time when you should act as if you believe the aforementioned motto.

Granted, not everyone believes in the existence of God. Atheists and agnostics reject the aforementioned motto, and the U.S. Constitution says that they have a right to do so. Yet, their lack of belief isn't preventing me from having peace about the future. The outcome of an election isn't doing so, either.

Because when criminals don't get caught, or miracles happen, people like to talk about it like it was something special.

They got what they asked for, just like in '08..... more lies of which the opposite will happen and then the reality will set in....once again.

All this election really shows is how phucked up the Rep party is when they can't beat a guy who's failed at everything he's attempted....except destroying liberty and increasing the debt.

Because he felt like it? Because it's just after the election? Because the election was a big deal? You knew what the thread was about before clicking on it. If you didn't want to read another thread about Obama winning the election, why did you?

Hell yea. Another chance to be glad that Mr President beat the Mittwit. Mitt wasn't good enough to sit our oval office anyway.

Nobody likes a "sore loser." This applies to politics and sports and most everything in life..Sometimes we "win" and gain our "way" and sometimes we don't...Nobody "wins" all the time. Life is a "gamble." We place our "bets" and hope for the best... Of course we want to "win." But what happens if we don't? Do we have the capacity to "lick" our "wounds" and accept our "losses" at some point?...Life is full of "losses." (Our marriage may end in divorce or our spouse may die unexpectedly...We might not get a job or promotion we'd been hoping for...A hurricane or tornado may demolish our home and wipe-out everything that we hold near and dear.)...We live in a "survival of the fittest" type of world. And to me this involves being able to pick ourselves "back up" time after time when life hands us "blows" and disappointments...If we sit around and "cry in our beer" and feel sorry for ourselves day and night life will eventually pass us by. (And so will other people who get tired of our non-stop "bellyaching.") This has been my experience anyway.

I'm old now and I've been through many election cycles during my lifetime...Sometimes my candidates win and sometimes they don't and I've found ways to live with the candidates who do win...I was 4 years old when Dwight Eisenhower ran against Adlai Stevenson..I remember that election really well even though I was pretty young at the time...My parents were Democrats and they favored Stevenson. We were all disappointed when Eisenhower won but we didn't call him "bad names" or insinuate that the election was "rigged" etc...My parents believed that we had to show respect and "rally around" the candidate who won even if he (and later she) wasn't our "choice."...So my parents gave Eisenhower a "shot" and "chance" and they found themselves "pleased" with his overall "performance."...Of course this wasn't always the case when their candidates didn't win. But they took a "fair is fair" attitude when it came to elections. They accepted the "majority rule."...And they felt that they had to be "big people" and "rise-above" their "losses" in life. (In general!).. My parents served as wonderful role models for me. And their attitude and philosophy about "losses" has definitely helped me cope with all the "ups" and "downs" in my life!

I'm not a Republican, I'm an Independent. I never predicted Romney would win, I always thought it was about a 50/50 chance for either. If the hurricane had not hit and stopped Romney's momentum, the election could very well have gone the other way.

My complaint about Obama was that he was(is) in the process of bankrupting the US. Romney might have done the same thing. If there is not a major shift in spending habits, the US is doomed. The shift from free market to socialism under Obama is IMHO a bad direction for the US. There have been many examples in recent times of the US going in the wrong direction, i.e., unlimited funding of elections, corporate ownership of food grain DNA, ending of the manned space program, misinformation about Global Warming, ... the list is long.

The two party system in the US is corrupt. The interest is in money and propaganda dissemination. The true interest in the US citizen has been lost.
