Chasing the wind’s secrets
as it comes and goes
a stranger in the night
leaving memories
and yet taking them away
as if love never happened

So much can happen
in the few short moments
you feel it’s presence
cool
reminding you of spring’s song
cold
as a haunting winter’s night
gone
as if it were destined to be free
and you find yourself
wishing for its return

Why does it leave
why can’t it stay
should it hurt
to feel as good this feels
why
do some people walk away
as if they’re destined
to be free
leaving others to hope
to wish
to want
the few short moments
to last forever
