I hate holidays. For Halloween there were non stop horror flicks on every channel for at least a week.

Then comes the thanks giving flicks with a moral to the story but they don't last long before a virus of Christmas shows, and movies invade every channel like a plague.

THANKSGIVING: What am I thankful for ??

What am I thankful for? Having a chance at doing something productive with my life finally. I am thankful I am not on the street. I am thankful I do have friends at least for the few I really have. I am thankful I can be a pest on this website!

pitchfork

I am bummed out I have yet to meet any GF material yet but I do meet people here and made friends. So the good and bad balance out strangely and I am thankful for that.

And I may actually make a Thanksgiving Day meal. That is way cool since I can and do cook!

And Thank You for a thread about being thankful this short and what was once a practical celebration of America and what we once stood for!

BOO TO CHRISTMAS, It has been perverted into a lie. And to think the stores are already shoving Christmas down our throats!

BOO HISS JEER!

lol Know what you mean about what is on the tube. In California the foreign language stations and informercials are taking over way too many channels. Finally broke down and bought a player for either kind of movie. A few people where I live have more money than sense and buy all kinds of best sellers.

We have a "Bah Humbug" party here one weekend during the holidays just to get together but the rule is no "Seasonal stuff".

Between the holiday repeats and all the solicitors at this time a year I feel more like and ATM with hair or just turning the ringer off the phone. I get enough junk mail to cut down my own personal forest. Heck of it is in California you have to call and get permission to burn anything.

I am thankful that Sandy didn't make landfall right over the top of my kid's house which they were kind of expecting and he is offically working again. Kind of hoping they will try the rebuild America Act and put a lot of the "discouraged" workers on the payrolls to clean up some of the Natural disasters and infa -structure. Anyone with a Class B license can go to work for public transist they are constantly hireing for that here. Lots of overtime if you can hack the work.

I wish there would have been horror movies non stop, but I only noticed about 3 or 4 channels that played horror films on a regular basis(though not non stop).

I used to be thankful for Netflix, but now their selection is lacking, and they're a month or more behind on many New Releases.

Yep and today nothing but voting stuff, I am watching Netflix right now so I don't have to watch them count every single vote that comes in.

I love the Holiday season. And here is why.

Halloween means I watch It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Thanksgiving means watching Home Alone and Die Hard (I know that weird, but I just have to watch Die Hard around Thanksgiving. Lol). Christmas means watching A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Christmas Story. I look forward to watching these every holiday season.

I love all the holiday programming from Halloween through New Years! Of course, I don't have cable so I'm thankful for Netflix too. bigsmile

I hate them because they steal the regular programming from my favorite channels and most everything is a rerun. Even if they were not reruns, I would hate them. This universe does not need another Christmas show.

ohwell

For me, Thanksgiving means Alice's Restaurant. I'm a sucker for it every time.
