Two Egyptian children reportedly charged with criminal blasphemy against Islam

Christians said to be facing spate of arrests since publication of ‘Innocence of Muslims’ filmBy Greg Tepper October 3, 2012, 9:40 pm 1

Two Coptic children from the Beni Suef village in Egypt were arrested this week on blasphemy charges after they allegedly desecrated a Koran, The English-language Egyptian news site Ahram Online reported on Wednesday.

The children, Nabil Nady Rizk, 9, and Mina Nady Farag, 10, were said to be illiterate their father, who claimed they therefore had no idea that they were desecrating the holy book. The Egypt Independent reported that the children urinated on two copies of the Koran.

Both reports stated that a village religious leader first approached a local Christian leader to request that he discipline the youths, but then filed a complaint against the children with legal authorities.

The Egypt Independent reported that on Monday a Coptic teacher, Nevine al-Sayed, was interrogated by authorities after one of her students accused her of insulting the Prophet Muhammad. She was later released and fled her home for fear of violence against her.

The same report said that Egypt has seen an influx of blasphemy charges — as many as 17 — since the production and publication of the controversial video clip “Innocence of Muslims” on the internet.

Insulting Islam and the Prophet Muhammad is considered a crime in Egypt, and according to the report, sentences can range from several months’ to six years’ imprisonment.

Earlier this month, Ahram Online reported, a Coptic teacher was handed a six-year jail sentence after he posted on Facebook cartoons that were said to be defamatory toward the Prophet Muhammad, Islam, and Egypt’s President Muhammad Morsi.

Even the most conservative estimates are around 10% of the population. Some areas, like Palestine, the percentages are much, much higher. Among the population of "moderate" Muslims, there is considerable financial support for the radicals.

What is really strange is when someone says "Don't blame the religion for the actions of the "few" radicals.

Earlier this month, Ahram Online reported, a Coptic teacher was handed a six-year jail sentence after he posted on Facebook cartoons that were said to be defamatory toward the Prophet Muhammad, Islam, and Egypt’s President Muhammad Morsi.

wow

still trying to condemn all of Islam for the behavior of a minority huh?

I will pray the children remain safe, as to the laws about insulting Islam,, I dont know if its true and if it is, I see it as a cultural difference that is marked by the cultural 'icons'

just like it was a crime in my own lifetime to desecrate an american flag,, as it is the american icon,,,

For just a few??
rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl

Try tens of Millions.

Anyone that follows a pedophile is trash.

tens of millions do what exactly?

Are extremists.

How many the nation of Islam got?

They follow mohammed the pedo?

tens of millions of 'extremists'? thats interesting

where do you get that number from?

noi follows islam , just like catholics believe in jesus

but they are still slightly different from middle eastern muslim

just as catholicss are slightly different from christians,,,

In 2008 it was estimated at;
7 plus 6.5 plus 23.1 equals 36.6 percent of 1.2 billion Muslims, or 439 million radical Muslims in the world.
Just a small handful of murderous pedos.
That ain't counting the NOI.

I was just guessing 10s of Millions. Now it's hundreds of millions.

Even the most conservative estimates are around 10% of the population. Some areas, like Palestine, the percentages are much, much higher. Among the population of "moderate" Muslims, there is considerable financial support for the radicals.

What is really strange is when someone says "Don't blame the religion for the actions of the "few" radicals.

they just don't know any better...they have been groomed by the democrats in their PC mentality...

At least 26 killed in Nigeria school massacre

RT
Tue, 02 Oct 2012 00:00 CDT

Gunmen opened fire on students in a northeast Nigerian college, shooting some of them dead and stabbing others. Police say an Islamist extremist group could be behind the attack, but are also looking into possible links with student union elections.

Local sources say the attackers mainly targeted students who live in rented accommodation outside the campus of the Federal Polytechnic in Mubi.

The massacre is being blamed on Islamist extremist group Boko Haram, but officials say they do not rule out the possibility of political rivalry between college groups ahead of student union elections.

The town of Mubi is located in Nigeria's troubled northeast which has seen such violence previously, including January when gunmen killed at least 12 people.

Boko Haram is seeking an Islamic state in Nigeria's predominantly Muslim north. The country's military said last week they had killed a senior Boko Haram leader and arrested 156 suspected members of the group in a raid in Mubi.

The town is located near the city of Maiduguri in neighboring Borno state, which is considered the base of the group. Boko Haram is accused of killing more than 1,400 Nigerians since 2010.

Where is all outcry from the so-called moderate, peace loving Muslims?

All I hear is crickets.

On the bright side. When they kill their own, there is one less suicide bomber in the world.

I agree with why they did it but it was just plain dumb to do that with a Muslim Extremest Terrorist Orginization in control of their country.
