DETROIT (WJBK) - Security cameras recorded the violent beating of a gas station clerk in Detroit. Hamzah Nasser runs the BP at Schoolcraft and Greenfield on the city's west side. He says a group of nine teenagers came into his store earlier this week taking items off the shelves and telling the clerk they 'owned' the station. When Aali Williams, who was working at the time, came out from behind his bulletproof glass, he told the group to put the items back. That's when he says as many as five teens began to punch and kick him repeatedly. And it was all caught on tape. "When I saw this video, I was shocked that he's still alive," said Nasser. Williams, who suffered minor injuries, was able to get away back behind the counter. But the assault didn't end there. Williams says someone returned to the store a few hours later and fired shots at the bulletproof glass. Detroit police say they're reviewing the tape. No arrests have been made. If anyone can identify these suspects, they're asked to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP. |
