Topic: Not Knowing English In US Is Dangerous | |
---|---|
In addition the all the costs that come with this and the billions we have to spend printing signs, forms, papers and everything else in multiple languages and tax payers have to pay for translators in the courts and other government offices and buildings it is just dangerous, reckless and it should be a crime and English as the official language law should be passed here in the United States and you should be required to be able to speak, read, write and communicate in English perfectly to be able to obtain citizenship, get a work visa or any type of visa or residency card.
I was in a retail store shopping the other day and they had a "Code Adam". I stood by and watched the whole thing happen since I have dealt with this situation quite a few times over the years. What I have come to notice that 99% of the time they are Hispanic (they seem to let their kids run wild in stores and don't discipline and I have noticed that over the years and they are very rude like they own this place but that is another topic for another discussion). So anyways back on the subject there was a missing kid and the store employees were trying to get a description of the missing kid and of course the mother didn't speak English so they couldn't get any description of the child. I watched as they frantically tried to find an employee who spoke both English and Spanish (which they didn't have one working at the time) so for about 10 minutes they tried to find a customer who could help. 10 damn minutes is enough time to get a kid out of the store, into a car and on to the freeway and almost out of town. These people either don't think or don’t care. They expect us to cater to them when they come to OUR country and they should adapt to us not the other way around and this is a perfect example why. If I moved to another country I would damn sure know their language and their culture. They ended up finding the kid playing in the backroom of the store (that goes back to the topic of letting their children run wild). |

Thank the Libs, o'Blowme and all the other politicians who want to make the US a third world country.

The Republicans are to blame too. No one wants to do anything that may offend a group of potential voters even if they are illegal aliens at the moment.
They should pass a "English is the language of the the US". They should pass an "anchor baby" law, (the child is the citizen of it's mother's country. They should pass an "illegal aliens cannot own property in the US" law. And a "Illegals cannot receive government payments" law, just for starters. Last time I checked 47% of all immigrants in the US were on welfare. |

And should Spanish ever become the primary language of significant swaths of territory in the States, one only has to look as far as developed countries like Switzerland — which has no less than four official languages — to see that such multilingualism is largely unproblematic.

English for All, Freedom for None Mises Daily: Tuesday, September 25, 2012 by Danny Hieber http://mises.org/daily/6199/English-for-All-Freedom-for-None I think there are significant differences between Switzernland and the US though first off, it has a population about 1/42 the size of the US second off , it is about one tenth the size of California and thirdly because of those GEOGRAPHIC/POPULATION differences, implementing national languages that coincide with their neighboring countries (whose citizens are regularly intermingling with them the way we intermingle between states) makes more sense,,, In a country this large , with this large a population and much less regular daily interaction and immersion, such an implementation makes much less sense IMHO |

I think it serves little purpose and much too difficult to actually enforce English as 'mandatory' I do agree that our documents, jobs, and education should be centered around the English language as to the 'danger' of not knowing a native language, thats true in any country, whether a visitor or a resident alien,,, |

We just had a simular situation happen at my work today! Man I am getting tired of it, plus the music and advertising system is now in Spanish half of the time and they had to pay to redo ALL the signage in the store to Spanish. I am sick and tired of this, we need to stop catering to them. They are in OUR country and need to adapt to our culture just like we would do if we came to THEIR country. If it is so great there then why do they move here?
I am tired of coddling these people. They come here and destroy our country and thonk they are entitled to everything. They don't pay taxes, cant work here legally and all the money they make they send back to family in Mexico, not putting it into our economy and businesses. Plus they live like 30 of them in a 1 bedroom apartment so they don't have to spend money and they drive around bumping that circus music, speak in Spanish in front of people who don't speak Spanish (its rude) and raise their children to speak mostly Spanish so they don't understand English and get to cost taxpayers even more money to pay for special classes in Spanish and getting everything printed in multiple languages. Plus the ones who can speak English act like they don't while it benefits them and as soon as it doesn't they magically speak and write English better then an English major. Rant over. |

Also a wife beater shirt is supposed to be worn as an undershirt not as your only shirt with your stomach haning out and all your fake gold necklaces everywhere, that is just trashy and tacky and tasteless.
Rant Over. |
