Topic: Dreams are funny. | |

I've been having this dream and there's this lady in it. Every time I drive her car, the brakes barely work. When I step on the brake pedal it barely stops, but when I put it in park, it rolls forward, even if I roll it and let it gently bump something to stop it, it continues to roll when in park. Once it rolls, it won't stop even when I press on the brake peddle. It will slow down though.
This is not a lady from real life and the area we are in is not a real place, but some sort of representation of the streets I grew up on. |

It sounds to me like you are associated with someone of the female gender who is 'out of control' and won't stop. So, you are trying to take control of the situation (her car) by telling her what/how to handle things. This won't necessarily stop her from what she's doing but it will 'slow her down'.
Since there's a familiar feeling to the childhood neighborhood, I would imagine the woman or the situation reminds you of that time in your life (ie You've "been down this road before" or, you've "been down this road with her before"). The 'brake' could be symbolic of breaking a relationship/friendship off with a woman who represents the dream gal. You keep trying to break contact (brake contact) but you don't have control. As with all dreams, it's best for the dreamer to translate them. All I can do is offer insight into what I would see the meaning to be. And, on a sde note, since you didn't recogniz the woman as someone from your waking life...it's possible that the dream woman is an extension of the self. Not sure but wish you the best in deciphering it! |

LitleOldMeFromLSD is right.
I would have put it (but it sounds silly now, after reading her post) this way: "You told a certain lady "bend over and I'll drive you home" a little too many times, and now her brakes are worn out. Take her to a mechanic to change her pads (brake pads) or suck it up and try to appease her, and buy her some new shoes (brake shoes)." |

Thank goodness you woke to find the world makes sense again!

My friend just told me about a dream she had after watching an episode of BONES.
In her dream she was having an argument with a man who was trying to put a "Red Headed Tick" on her head. He kept saying "calm down, just let me do this and everything will be alright". When he got so close, she jumped out of her sleep and realized she was gonna be late for work. |

Thank goodness you woke to find the world makes sense again! Which world would that be? We Melmacians want to know. |

Perhaps there is a gentleman in her life who wishes to implant a 'blood sucker' (ie extra responsibilities that might drain her of time/energy, or something else of this nature) in her thoughts.
It sounds as if this woman had a discussion/argument with a man recently and it bothered her enough that her subconscious was working on solving the issue while she slept. Whatever the argument was about, he had failed in his attempt to convince her that she should allow him to use her (or her resources) for whatever reason. The color of the tick in the dream was red but you didn't say what type of red. Is it a deep, dark red (associated with passion)? A bright red (associated with anger/rage)? Both will mean very different things in our subconscious. Good luck in deciphering though! |
