That is when you have to make a simple choice.

Who do you love more?
- Yourself
- Your wife/family
or
- God

That's what all to most choices boil down to.

So what if they get killed by some wild animals? What's the loss? If they did as they were suppose to do on Earth, they'll end up in a better place. Never have to feel any more pain of any sort for all of eternity. Would you trade that eternity to save you or your family/friends a few more years here on Earth when it's inevitable we were born to die so to speak?

For the first item.
It's a man's responsibility to protect his family from harm.
Never having one, I can understand your point.

This next piece, I copied.

Protect Your Family
Protect your family physically. Thegodly husband is responsible for the physical security of his family. God has given men greater physical strength than women and has also given men a need or desire to be protectors. You are to use this God-given strength to protect your wife and to ensure that she feels secure. She must know that you will protect her even at the cost of your own life. You must be the first into battle, you must be the one who knows that “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). That verse tells me to die in defense of. Defending. Not exposing your belly to be ripped out.

A burglar comes in. You have kids. He wants to rape and sodomize you, your wife and kids. You just gonna' sit back and enjoy it?

Interesting analogy, willing2!

Like the Word says..."To everything there is a season...".

Will I get a straight answer?

Will I get a straight answer?

Let'em take it. I have no need for the things of this world.

Romans 12:17
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

Matthew 10:28
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

I'm not talking about killing now.

I'm talking about someone raping and sodomizing you, your wife, and kids.

Would you try to stop them?

A simple yes or no will suffice, please.

No I wouldn't. We all have our rewards in what we reap in life. Be careful what you sow, it may not be what you wished to reap.

Again, what's it matter if they do? So a person(s) would have to go through some pain for a time being. You going to trade those few more years for possibly your eternal self?

How much crap will you take off someone? (As per your profile)

What will you do when you have reached your limit and they don't back off?

I'll always be honest with them. You say protect their well being? No one can protect another's well being. You state it in a way when someone "dies/passes" away on Earth, that's the end of the line, it's finished. They have no more "life or well being". Why do you see it as such? Do you not believe Earth will be made like it is in Heaven where we will live for eternity? If you do, why refuse to listen to our savoir?

What will you do when you have reached your limit and they don't back off?

It is their loss if they have to stoop so low and degrade themselves in such a fashion.

No it is not, in that exact sense. But it is "evil" to disobey our father. We have no instructions from our father to "retaliate" in the new covenant which we have been given. All we have is instructions as such

I think of the story of the Centurion who asked the Lord to say the Word to heal his servant.

This guy was a soldier who was on duty, ready to defend what he enlisted to defend.
Yet as Jesus saw that this soldier was a man of faith his blessings were granted.
The man was not condemned for his military duty.

Matthew 8:

5, And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum,
there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

6, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home
sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

7, And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

8, The centurion answered and said,
Lord, I am not worthy
that thou shouldest come under my roof:
but speak the word only,
and my servant shall be healed.

9, For I am a man under authority,
having soldiers under me:
and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth;
and to another, Come, and he cometh;
and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

10, When Jesus heard it, he marvelled,
and said to them that followed,
Verily I say unto you,
I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

11, And I say unto you,
That many shall come from the east and west,
and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob,
in the kingdom of heaven.

12, But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

13, And Jesus said unto the centurion,
Go thy way; and as thou hast believed,
so be it done unto thee.

nd his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

That is contradictory to what you are preaching, no?
I read, no matter how one is treated, it's Christ-like to turn the other cheek and forgive. Just because someone abuses you, aren't you supposed to just forgive?

If that abusive person is in your house, do you kick them out or, turn the other cheek and allow the abuse?

Now, again.

If someone is raping and sodomizing you wife and kids, that's all good?

But, if someone gives you a little grief, you won't bend over and take it? They would have to force you to bend over for you to be good with it??

Cerise,

Can you please explain the relevance of this post? A soldier asked the LORD to heal a servant, not specifically a military servant, but just a servant back at his home. Again, where is the relevance to this discussion?
