Which one do you have? What do you like and/or dislike about it? Would you recommend it to others?

I have a kindle fire and I love that it's essentially a tablet but very low cost. I really like it, it was a little buggy at first but the software is much better now. Both run on android. I know a lot of people who say nook is more user friendly and can read more file types. Kindle only does MOBI book files. I don't have a nook so I can only repeat what I've heard.

I chose kindle because I buy books, music and movies on amazon all the time so the integration to the kindle is super easy for me.

I was just told by someone that the Kindle Fire screen is like an iPad, rather than like the regular Kindle or a Nook. I'm looking for something a bit easier on the eyes than a regular computer screen, which is what it sounds like.

I have not handled a kindle, so I am going by what people have told me. My friend has a Nook tablet and it seemed pretty cool.

I can relate to that but I also wanted something more versatile than just an e-reader. I put an anti-glare screen cover on mine which I really like and you can also adjust the brightness as well as the color of the page and font on the kindle fire.

I had a Kindle and it broke. I'm not going to replace it because it's easier for me to read in bed with my iPhone (Kindle app). The screen lights up so I can read with the light off and just fall asleep when I'm ready.

I have no experience with the Nook so I guess I have nothing to contribute to this conversation.

Are you just looking for an e-reader or something more tablet like?

I love my Galaxy Player 5.0 - fits in a pocket, works like a tablet,
make calls on VOIP, watch movies read books - all free apps. No Amazon or Barnes and Noble stuff needed. $200 - outstanding value!

The Galaxy Tabs if you really want something larger.

Yeah, I'd like something a bit more versatile as well. I was considering an iPad, but they're so expensive. I think I still may go with the kindle fire.

An anti-glare screen cover sounds like a good idea.

I don't like reading on my iPhone as it's just too small. Email and things like that are fine, but a book? No.

I personally do not use, but the Kindle seems to sell more, if that helps. IMO, it just comes down to personal preference on which you like more.

I have very developed thumb muscles now that I've been turning the page so frequently on my iPhone.

In case you were interested in exercise while you read.

They have screens you can buy for your computer to make it easier on the eyes, I'm sure they have them for Kindles and Nooks as well.

An iPad is really just an over glorified and over priced tablet PC. You can get a more affordable one that is Windows based.

Right, but it's good to get other opinions as well from those who already have one or the other.

I know there are. I'll probably end up with a kindle, though.

I have a Kindle, I was never interested in one, but a friend of mine upgraded so I got his old one, and I do like it more than I thought I would, it's easy to read, no eye strain. I do like that I have all of HP Lovecraft's stories collected in one place.
