"Pakistani Protester Burns American Flag and Dies From Smoke" A Pakistani man, one of approximately 10,000 people participating in an anti-American rally has died. The cause of death? Complications from inhaling smoke after burning an American flag. The Express Tribune, a Pakistani newspaper affiliated with The International Herald Tribune (“The Global Edition of The New York Times”) reported: “ One of the participants of the rally, Abdullah Ismail, passed away after he was taken to Mayo Hospital. Witnesses said he had complained of feeling unwell from the smoke from US flags burnt at the rally. The rally is part of protests, organized by Jamaat-Ud-Dawa, the political arm of the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. Protesters are allegedly insulted by America’s unwillingness to punish the makers of the film “Innocence of Muslims.” The protesters, demanding respect for and tolerance of Islam, threatened to destroy the U.S. consulate in Pakistan if the United States does not publicly hang the movie’s producer, director, and “all those involved in the production and release of the movie” (which would presumably include Google and YouTube employees). The protesters also will not be satisfied until the United States makes a “law against blasphemy.” http://www.forbes.com/sites/gregorymcneal/2012/09/16/pakistani-protester-burns-american-flag-and-dies-from-smoke/ Karma does come around...... Even though I don't wish ill fate on anyone. But......you take it upon yourself to burn our flag Karma does seem to do it's job... |

I guess "Freedom" only covers a limited range of things these days, of course...That's assuming it exists in the first place. All that said though, do they not have the freedom to express their discontent towards us?
So far they've killed less Americans than we do daily...Ironic, really. |

Ya know Fear, I don't have a problem with anyone expressing their thoughts. When it comes to burning the American Flag I don't care who they are, that is beyond expressing ones opinion. I feel it is a crime to burn a Flag regardless which country it belongs too... |

Putting toxic preservatives in flags sent to the middle east is a great idea.
Hey China, way to go!!!! Wonder how many demonic Muslims will kill folks over that news article? |

I'm always surprised at the amount of foreign protesters that want to hold a burning flag, one guy to the next, they're all swingin that thing around... I picture them getting one drop of melting nylon on their skin to stop them from protesting in this way again. But smoke inhalation causing death? Priceless! |

We feel differently...Some statements are more iconic than others, the only real reason we pay attention to those statements is the destruction of another iconic symbol. Putting worth into nothing more than cloth is a lost ideal, investing emotion into that same cloth is almost assuring heartbreak in the future. Icons should live, breath, and speak freely...Not wave in the wind. |

Your right Fear, we do see things differently.
To me when one takes it upon themselves to destroy something that has a meaning to many and does it out of spite. Their words no longer have any value to them... I do understand many that do it, do it to bring attention to the cause they are protesting.... Ohhh they do indeed bring attention to themselves but their meaning is lost when they choose that route. One does not have to destroy what has meaning to others to be heard. |
