Some people can definitely "fly off the handle" when it comes to certain issues. Or get defensive..Or turn into an attorney or lawyer "arguing" their "case" with pages and pages of so-called "evidence" to back-up their "claims" and "side" etc..When I catch myself "over-reacting" and coming all "unglued" I try to ask myself why a certain issue has become "do" or "die" for me...Am I really wise to engage in heated and "no-win" debates that keep going around in circles? (Or debates that can even turn "vicious?")...How do you feel about it? Just curious.

once someone is 'offended', they will rarely hear or try to hear anything else that is said,,,so the discussion is pretty much over anyway,,,

I know what you mean, I tend to have a bias toward some minglers too that I wont debate things that they are 'sensitive' about with them

most minglers, I dont hold back my disagreements with, but a handful I just wont risk it because I think they are truly decent people (Even if they are wrong,,,lol) and I dont want them taking things personally,,,,

Not only "unwise", it shows ignorance and arrogance which is a very bad combo...Also round and round is not debate, it is a game of chicken and we all know how foolish that can be.....

After a couple suspensions, I learned how to communicate here and rarely get all anal or hormonal about issues.

Some issues I have passion about. And it ain't just sex. I could put my differences aside for it and have compromised my ideals for it also.

When mobile phones first came out, I needed one. I didn't need all the crap that she sold me but, damn was she hot and used it agin' me. I bought her whole package.

I agree with you about the combination of arrogance and ignorance...Gotta "save the world!"...Gotta set people "straight!"...Have to "educate" the masses...It's easy to get caught-up in self-righteousness. Don't you think?...Of course most people don't call it being self-righteous...Our views and beliefs "make sense" to us and seem "correct." But how far will we go when it comes to "playing missionary" and "doing battle" with people who don't share our exact beliefs?...I think about this kind of "stuff" a lot. When is it time to just "walk away" and let other people "be?".. Will the sky really "fall in" if I fail to "convert" every single person on the planet around to "my beliefs?" (I don't think so! I'm not God!)

I so get where you are coming from !!! and it feels good to know others here have had or are having similar thoughts....Certain hate threads were the hardest for me to walk away from, but I am learning how to do just that and I am picking my fights carefully...EVERYTHING that can be said has been said so that makes it even easier to skate...
