I don't understand this person. They said we took people away from their family abd sent them to war, yet they havent lived through a draft. People sign up for the military now. Its a choice. What literature have they taken away? What freedom have they lost in their 1 year of semi adulthood? What other country have they lived in that they are comparing to? They talk about test scores for one. Those highest countries are in Asia. Children do almost nothing but study. You are not taught free thinking but to obey superiors. Japan and Korea are both anti drug and I would say homosexuality is not popular either. I think you need to live in another country or countries and be older before making those kind of claims. There is nothing wrong with criticizing your country and acknowledging it's flaws, but all countries have flaws.

What I find interesting is the amount of commonalities shared by those doing the pizzing...I often wonder why they stick around...There must be a country somewhere that would better meet their needs...ohwell

a country is filled with many people

if people can 'pizz' on one person, why cant they 'pizz' on a group of people

seems consistent and fair to me,,,

What if, in the days and presence of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Madison, Washington, and Franklin ... and the others, a speaker of the House was elected and said the following ...

“We have to pass the (health care) bill so you can find out what is in it”.

that would be strange since there was not yet the MEDIA that made people feel so entitled to instant information,,,,,

My post had absolutely nothing to do with the media. It was an introspective question about how the framers of our government would view the referenced statement by a speaker of the house.

it kind of does have to do with media, since media is the creation by which we now feel we should immediately 'know' whats in a bill

noone would say such a statement in the time of Jefferson because people WOULDNT find out what was in the bill until it was passed and able to be printed in the papers,,,lol

it also has to do with another of obama's "campaign promises" saying every bill would be posted at least a week before it was voted on... another lie...

one of several 'lies' (unfulfilled goals campaigned upon),, also not remotely UNIQUE to this president

I repeat: My post had absolutely nothing to do with the media or anything having to do with the media.

The thread OP was about the view of a nineteen year old girl's perception of the current status of the United States. The girl's perception is shaped by all she has learned and seen in the short time she has experienced being a citizen of the US.

I transferred the same concept to the founding members of the US by asking, introspectively, what would they think if they heard the speaker of the house utter the quoted words spoken by the speaker recently.

There is no interpretation of this post that involves the media in any way.
