On the bottom banner of some skreens on this site now there is a fantastic looking twenty-two-year-old blonde, and the banner says "Russian women make the best wives."

You, ladies, the majority of whom are of American or else upside-down descent; do you agree with the statement? 0 is no, I disagree, 10 is I very much agree, 5 means, I like beards, 3 means bring me his head on a silver platter, and 7 means I like chocolate.

Maybe you think this is funny but making fun or insinuateing that women from ANY country because they hope to find husbands are less seems kind of a cheap shot.

There are many Russian women and they are as varied as any other group.

Some kind, well mannered, moral, hard working, devoted, loving, maternal women any decent respectable man would be blessed to have.

Yes; some not, but it just kind of hits me wrong. Maybe because it is kind of personal since the only "Grandmother" I ever really had was courageous enough to put herself between me and an abusive ******* right up to the last moments of her long and distinguished life. And I hardly think she is the only one. In fact I know she wasn't so watch the slurs.

About 20 years ago, I had daily encounters with a Russian woman who was a visiting professor in an American college. I asked for her opinion about those ads pertaining to Russian women. She told me that advertising themselves in such a way was uncharacteristic of Russian women, that the women in the ads probably weren't Russian at all.

What I was aiming at was that if Russian women make the best wives, and the ad claims that so vehemently, then it also claims, in a roundabout logic, that American women are chopped liver as far as how they make wives.

This was just an observation on the fact that if you praise a group for a quality that is inherently "good" or "bad", then the converse applies to all who are outside the group, and therefore the compliment is rather like trash -- you must not make a comparison when you give a compliment, that's all I am saying.

And the ad certainly made a comparison, when it said Russian women are the "best"... all others therefore must be "worse"... that's bread and butter to a logician, and it contradicts reality, at the same time that it is insulting to around 3,000,000,000 women. But hey.

I'm looking into getting one now...

Oh, I haven't got it for so loooong... it's a different thing for men and women. Women can get one any time, and they don't. Men can hardly get any, and when they can, they do.

What's with that? I thought this thing is supposed to be an "intelligent design". It looks more like a imbecilic design to me at best, and a sadistic design if I want to be unkind unto the Creator.
