Today I went to a remote area in Colorado down in a canyon. There was a picnic area there, but it was completely out of any cell phone reach. I saw a sign I thought was curious. It said: Warning, this area is under surveillance.

Oh yeh right.... by satellite I suppose?whoa

You do realize that they can block cell phone signals, and CCTV, and other means of surveillance do not necessarily work via the airwaves, right? There's more than one method of signal transmission.

Yep. I was just saying, there was no cell phone service out where I was today. I didn't see anything else that could have been surveillance. What else would they have out there and how would it send a signal?

They could use anything really. Just saying, just because you didn't have a cell signal doesn't mean anything.

The constitution has been neutered for quite some time. These "law enforcement" people take an oath not only to enforce the law, but also to defend the constitution (or at least they used to)so for them to arrest anyone for using their first amendment rights without naming anyone or threatening to kill anyone specifically is wrong and the people doing this are nothing more than jack booted thugs.

Apparently nobody associated with Brandon Raub is talking to the local news stations, because those news stations haven't reported anything about Raub.

Anything like what?

The only thing they could use that I can think of, would be equipment that connects to a satellite, and bounces information back to the person doing the surveillance. That might be pretty expensive equipment.

I am going to go to the Parks Department and ask them about it on Monday. Now they have got me curious.

ask them if you should feel safe seeing as they say it is being monitored.......

thus if monitored and something happens they should be there lickity split to rescue you from the evil doer

and if not....they put you at risk with a false sense of security with their under surveillance sign (wonder if that would be worth very much in civil court)

just a thought

but hey

what do i know

Now, the story about Brandon Raub is being reported by CBS News.

Here are a few excerpts:

Brandon J. Raub, 26, has been in custody since FBI, Secret Service agents and police in Virginia's Chesterfield County questioned him Thursday evening about what they said were ominous posts talking about a coming revolution. In one message earlier this month according to authorities, Raub wrote: "Sharpen my axe; I'm here to sever heads."

Police — acting under a state law that allows emergency, temporary psychiatric commitments upon the recommendation of a mental health professional — took Raub to the John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell. He was not charged with any crime.

and

Dee Rybiski, an FBI spokeswoman in Richmond, said there was no Facebook snooping by her agency.

"We received quite a few complaints about what were perceived as threatening posts," she said. "Given the circumstances with the things that have gone on in the country with some of these mass shootings, it would be horrible for law enforcement not to pay attention to complaints."

and

Col. Thierry Dupuis, the county police chief, said Raub was taken into custody upon the recommendation of mental health crisis intervention workers. He said the action was taken under the state's emergency custody statute, which allows a magistrate to order the civil detention and psychiatric evaluation of a person who is considered potentially dangerous.

He said Raub was handcuffed because he resisted officers' attempts to take him into custody.

Let's see . . . a crazed gunman goes on a shooting spree in a movie theater . . . a crazed gunman goes on a shooting spree in a Sikh temple . . . two crazed gunmen go on a shooting spree in Tulsa, Oklahoma . . .

Gee, do you suppose that recent mass killings in the USA might have mental health professionals and law officers worried about a mass killing happening again?

Of course, that is logical. More hyperbole and hysteria over nothing.

Or perhaps they are USING THIS PROBLEM to advance their POLICE STATE where they just go out and pick people up and throw them into a mental institution for voicing dissent.

The method is well known as Problem, reaction, solution.... to pass more laws and give the government more power.

It's too late. Deleting Facebook won't help. The only thing you can do now is try and drop out of society. But you have to have the resources to do that.
