It's well known among Illinois gun circles that anti-gun advocate Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (IL-2 D) has a FOID card and is a regular customer at a gun shop in the South Suburbs. Yes, double standards abound.

JJJ is also currently seeking mental health treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for Bipolar Disorder. Hope he is feeling better but here's the crux of the matter, since he has now been in a mental health institution w/i the last five years, according to the FOID act, he is ineligible to possess a FOID card or firearms w/i this state:

(iv) He or she has not been a patient in a mental

institution within the past 5 years and he or she has not been adjudicated as a mental defective;

Note: this is for initially obtaining one.
So that begs the question (one of many): Are the Illinois State Police going to revoke his FOID card as required by the act(sec8-e) or is he going to receive preferential treatment?

Update: here's sect 8E:

Sec. 8. The Department of State Police has authority to deny an application for or to revoke and seize a Firearm Owner's Identification Card previously issued under this Act only if the Department finds that the applicant or the person to whom such card was issued is or was at the time of issuance:

(e) A person who has been a patient of a mental institution within the past 5 years or has been adjudicated as a mental defective;

As a resident of Chicago (according to the IL State Board of Elections), are his firearms stored at his home?

If so, does he have a Chicago Firearms Permit and/or registrations and will they be revoked by the city?
If not, where are they stored? Elsewhere in Il or at his out of state residence while attending the Hill?

Since he has called for bans on handguns and semi-auto firearms, does he own any of the firearms he wants to deny others?

I think these are all relevant and important questions to have answered.

And another issue is the response by the anti-gun groups like the ICHV or Brady Campaign. They go on about keeping guns away from people w/ mental health issues. Will they now be hypocrites now that one of their pet politicians falls under that category or will they call for him to dispose of his firearms? What is Chicago Mayor and MAIG member Emanual going to say? Will he call JJJ out or will he cover for him just like his predecessor Daley did for Alderman Mell?

I think we at least know the answers to those.

Dem Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. Says He And Obama Fought The NRA “Every Step of The Way”…

http://weaselzippers.us/2012/03/09/dem-rep-jesse-jackson-jr-says-he-and-obama-fought-the-nra-every-step-of-the-way/

President Obama has fought opponents of gun control “every step of the way,” according to a new campaign ad for Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D., Ill.).

Hitting Rep. Jackson’s opponent, Debbie Halverson, on her gun control record, the ad says: “Debbie Halvorson sided and voted with the Republicans and the NRA against gun control […] President Obama and Congressman Jackson fought them every step of the way.”

Here in California Senator Feinstein (Democrat) has a concealed carry permit. She also does carry a hand gun. She likewise has been big on making people turn in their guns! Gun control sort of has been her crusade.

Senator Schumer is another one. Ted Kennedy is another. I am sure I could dredge up a number of Elitists who want to be the only ones who get permission to have a weapon to protect themselves. And then along comes these self appointed Civic leaders who feel they need to pack a Roscoe to protect them from the mob should people get angry with them.

There is a hole in their logic. MOB MENTALITY! Lets say they are making a speech and making the usual promises while a lot of other shave gone unfulfilled. Now we have a crowd of ANGRY people attending the speech and anger is high in the air. (For argument sake) let us say most of these people watched their lives erode from just making it to no way of saving yourself now broke. I mean ANGER IS HIGH and that political figure makes a callous remark that sets off that anger and makes it boil to downright hatred and the crowd moves on that politician. Security panics and someone starts shooting and the crowd goes into MOB mode! When that happens people loose their individuality completely. Their social nature and a common enemy will set off an explosion of conflict. When you wound an animal it gets more violent and dangerous. Well, when you wound or kill a member of the MOB it just pisses off the rest and they fight harder. There have been times many police forces have found themselves out gunned and out manned in no time in one of these situations. The Los Angeles Riot is a POOR example of this. Now said Politician will find themselves surrounded in no time. Now say that politician gets cut off from the limo and escape. Now lets say that person has nine bullets facing a crowd who has been bloodied and tasted blood. Nine people out of a thousand go down and what have you got? A very dead politician who had a gun. A gun can only protect you from so much. Even with police protection a large Mob gone mad is nothing to scoff at. They can and will take and inflict a lot of damage. What makes this so significant? Mobs will get whatever on hand and they can do tremendous damage where it takes and army otherwise with big weapons to match the scale of damage.

That is part of the reason the government and Media is playing with worst than an A Bomb. Bulls are dumb but when riled and focused are hell on feet. In this case humans are like Werewolf Sheep. Yeah we bleat along all happy in our green pasture but when we find a reason to kill something, oh boy the fangs come out!

That is why arms makers don't sell machine guns to the general public. Machine guns are regulated.

More ad hominem - the last resort of someone who can't win an argument using logic.

By the way, by using an image pertaining to the old Confederacy, you set yourself up for accusations of racism.

Actually you can indeed by a machine gun or anyother weopon under the sun, just not in all states. Gun shows have been selling all types of weopons on the hundreds of gun shows all over the country.

Southerners own guns.

Feral Panthers have assault weapons.

What you suppose the hunt in the Ghettos of Chicago?

With a Fed. Firearms Permit, any "Citizen" can legally own auto-fire weapons.

Unfortunately, gun laws vary from state to state. Like I said if you wanted a rocket launcher, and you buy it at a gun show, many states gun laws make it perfectly legal.

Southerners own guns.

You used an image pertaining to the old Confederacy.
A person can be a southerner without promoting the old Confederacy.
A person can promote gun ownership without promoting the old Confederacy.

When you use an image pertaining to the old Confederacy while criticizing people who happen to be black, you might give someone the impression that you are a racist.

And your evidence that newly-made machine guns are being sold at gun shows is . . . ?
