No one knows the exact circumstances. There very well could have been
gunfire left and right. There is no independent witnesses and Hamas
and the Palestinian propaganda machine have already been caught lying.

It certainly is not funny what Hamas did to their own people.

It is about as horrific as Hamas trying to kill as many innocent
people as possible in rocket attacks, bus and cafe bombings.

Without any independent free press in the Palestinian territories,

What is certain however is that Hamas caused the war, perpetuated
the conflict, lied about the Israeli Defense Force actions, and
operated in populated areas on purpose to create more civilian
casualties.

The war crimes belong to Hamas not the IDF who were fighting a
defensive effort to STOP the Hamas war crimes.

The Gaza War, aka Operation Cast Lead was a three-week armed conflict that took place in the Gaza Strip during the winter of 2008–2009. The origin of the conflict was months long shelling of Israel populated areas coming from the Gaza strip. (1) Israel was forced into the conflict in order to arrest rocket fire into Israel cities and homes and to prevent arms import into Gaza. In June 2008, Egypt brokered a Hamas cease fire in a failed attempt to head off the looming ground assault but after only 5 days, the ceasefire was broken immediately (6) and repeatedly by Hamas and groups supported by Hamas in Gaza and Israel responded with ground forces to put an end to the constant persistent threats to her citizens.

After months and years of trying to get Palestinian groups to stop rather than encourage rocket attacks through various discussions mediated by the US and Egypt and others, Israeli Defense Forces entered the Gaza strip on December 27, 2008 and within 3 weeks had forced cessation of the attacks.

I highly doubt truth will manifest regarding these deaths, as we have no partial media, I highly doubt that if the Isreali soldier is indeed gulity, the goverment will not admit his guilt as that would be counterproductive and would villify the soldier. I also doubt the well propagated stance of "human shields". A woman and child? Highly unlikely, a mother's first and natural responce is to protect her child. They were obviousely protesting the demolitions of their homes while waving white flags. Armed forces are often trained well, however, as a former leatherneck, I kmow that some soldiers are not wraped to tight, as iv seen my own fellow leathernecks shoot at anything, often from stress. I find it hard to believe the entity who has full access to a media, while the victim has no international voice. Even Al Jezeera is no longer an Arab news organization. So unfortunately we may not know the full story, as Isreal has the means to tell their version, while the Palestinians have no voice.

The Palestinian Authority and all of Gaza is one giant open air concentration camp, with little to eat, no infrastructure, terrorable human conditions. I DON'T Think they have the capabilities to actually have "a propaganda machine", They dont even have a real television outlet, if they do, its nowhere close to influence international public opinion. They need food, water, medicine. They have no means at influencing anyones opinion. Can one say the same for the Jewish states position to present their version of events? I think not.

The big deal is the murder of a woman and her child, regardless of what side one takes politically, one thing is certain, the Palistinians are constanly reminded of death at the hands of their enemys. With no means to defend themselfs. I imagin that if all of Palestine is not destroyed, their memorys will be past on to their offspring who now are the ones shouting "never forget",ironicly towards the ones who shout it as well. The differance being, no power lasts forever, for forever is a long time for the once mighty to fall, while the lowly to rise, and remember.
