Topic: Have you run into many bullies on forums?

Thanks for your posts...I agree. This is definitely a friendly forum. And I'm glad!..I think the "top dogs" on the other forum were "tight" with the mods...Some posters were hostile and competitive in sections that should have been more friendly. Every topic was subject to debates and "snipes" and negativity etc. YUK!...But there were some friendly and caring people too. Just not enough!

I agree that bullies are everywhere. You can choose to not go where they are. You can choose whether to let their comments get to you. You can choose how you react to it. Though I gotta admit, I'm only human. On occasion i've tried to vilify them right back, but that was nothing more than instant reaction. Normally, I just laugh at anyone who tries to belittle me. That normally makes them puzzled enough to leave me the hell alone. . They're a waste of thought.

There will always be those who feel they can bully people online or in person. This site used to have a few, but they're no longer around. Some other sites have many of them.

Bullies run in packs, and there's always an alpha bully who instigates, because they know they've got the rest of the wannabe bully pack to back them up....like rabid dogs. I've not only locked horns with them in real life, but also on several sites, probably because i didn't choose to join in on their feeding frenzy. I know it's no excuse for their behaviour, but i guess they have issues just like everybody else.

Not that I've noticed, if someone doesnt agree with me or like what I said , it's easy enough to laugh it off. There's a lot of "play" and humor on this forum which is great!...Quite a few people on the other forum took things "super seriously." Or worse: They took things "personally!"...There was no telling if someone might take "offense" over something! (Something that wasn't meant to be "offensive!")...In December I started a holiday thread. My son had just had his 2nd brain surgery and it was nice to go on the holiday thread to "play" and take my mind off my "troubles." But all kinds of "hot and heavy debates" started-up on the holiday thread and the tone became nasty and negative at times...Anyway it's nice to be in a more friendly environment! Thanks to everyone here!

Bully on an internet forum? Stand up to them when they seen reasonable, if not, IGNORE them completely :-)

Have you run into many bullies on forums?..I was a member of another forum for years and years. But the climate and atmosphere really started to change recently...More and more bullies stepped-in and took over. I guess they view themselves as "top dogs" or ??...It reminds me of how popular kids are portrayed in teenage movies. They act like snobs and "pick" on other kids...Have you ever run into anything like this on forums? This site is very good about nipping that kind of thing in the bud.
